Yeah, I started riding streetbikes before I could drive....my father also has one of those full dressers too, I can't remember if it is a Ultra or not, HD has to many variations of the same basic bike.
Currently I don't have anything, a car for my wife, and one for me and only one job doesn't leave enough money for all my hobbies :)
My last bike was a 99 SV650, that I bought new, fun little bike. Easy to ride, no plastic to screw up, and would go a lot faster than I ever had the need to, had it over 125 with about 5000RPMs left on the tach.
When I get back into the money I'm thinking about a Triumph Speed Triple.2003 SuperBowl Champions!, THE New England Patriots!

Your better off going for the BMW, one of the reasons I don't like HD is you are paying for the name. The mark up is just stupid, I beleve the V-Rod is going for 7500-10000 OVER MSRP.Originally posted by udtseal
I want a motorcycle so bad! Have you seen that new Harley V-Rod??? I saw the making of it on Discovery channel or TLC, wow that is a beautiful bike. When I get one its either gonna be that or a BMW R1200C. I like the cruisers.2003 SuperBowl Champions!, THE New England Patriots!

But the scary thing is that most of the HDs people buy now can be sold for the original price or darn close to it. Living in Milwaukee, it's interesting to see how the severly devoted will come here just to buy their bike in the city that builds them. Personally, I find them for the most part annoying. I don't see the joy in that much vibration and noise for long trips. Then again, I sold all my bikes (4 road bikes) because I didn't ride them anymore.Originally posted by headcase

I know HD's hold their value, but I just think it is crazy to spend 20K on a bike that isn't worth it.(To me anyway)2003 SuperBowl Champions!, THE New England Patriots!

100% agreement. No way I'd ever pay more for a bike I can only use 2/3 of the year than I'd pay for my car. I love how militant the hard core bikers around here can get over it though. Far as I'm concerned, let them buy 'em all they want, they're helping pump money back into the local economy...Originally posted by headcase

I ride old school dirtbikes
1976 Husqvarna CR 250
1976 Husqvarna WR 250
Montessa Cota 247 Trials
We have owned Bultaco Sherpa T, Yamaha 175, old Yamaha desert bike, CB 400 (?) my dad owned a 69 Yamaha TT which he converted into a motocrosser, and the most recent, a Honda CBX. That was a big bike.
