*What are the best computer games...*

Alright, I know I'm going to get a lot of opinions.

Lately I've been really bored, doing pretty much nothing besides errands, paintball, and surfing teh net.

I need something to entertain me.

I have a computer that will run any game you throw-out (Excluding like Unreal 3... but that's not out yet )

I have already pre-ordered halflife 2 but that won't be out for a while.

I prefer FPS games, but if you can recommend something else good, lemme know.

    I currently have...

    - UT 2004
    - Original UT
    - UT 2003
    - Planetside
    - Halo
    - Tribes 1
    - Tribes 2
    - Halflife/Steam

And a few misc. demo games, I was going to download the SWG 14 day trial but fileplanet buggered on me.

Throw some ideas at me, I'm getting bored...

Forgot to put that, I have BF:V, just not installed at the moment, specialist mod never appealed to me much, it is fun though

Looks like I'll be buying Doom 3... sounds like fun

Call of Duty maybe? I'm getting it in the mail hopefully tomorrow but it is supposed to be kickass. What about Delta Force: Black Hawk Down? I've had that game for a year now and it's still fun to play through the missions. Very nice graphics as well.

Far Cry is loads of fun. Not a great story, not too engrossing, but just its so damn pretty that you won't want to stop playing.

Doom 3 is great. Hands down best single player FPS i have played (and i've probably had them all).

If you get it only play in very very dark room, it makes the fun level times 10. I have already jumped outta my chair about 20 times and the rest of the time I'll hear a noise and spin around. If you got a nice speaker system or headphones its even better, be sure to make it loud

The story, graphics, and all around ambience really PUTS you in the game. It's amazing. I almost find myself sweating after playing it!

                Multiplayer:

Can't go wrong with free games, give Americas Army a try. Completely free. I like it because it is VERY team oriented, very very rarely can a single teamate alone be responsible for the win *cough cough* cs with awp *cough*

I'll think of some others tomorrow probably

                              Deer Hunter!! Hehe! Okay...no, seriously...hrm...

I haven't really played FPS games online/competatively for a long time now. Call of Duty is interesting but too short. If you like RTS games, the ones from Blizzard always kicks butt.

If you like RPG's, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is pretty good. Neverwinter Nights is a pretty involved game too. Then again, both games were developed by the same developer and have plenty in common.

I've heard great things about Doom 3 but I've yet to pick it up. I'll probably wait till I can purchase it through our company store...hehe.

Well, I wished I could give you more suggestions but the rest are doing a good job of giving you some ideas. Let us know what you decide!

Oh! The last online, fps game that I got into was Enemy Territory. It's a free download and it uses the Return to Castle Wolfenstein engine. You've got multi-class sytem that pits the Axis vs. Allies. Usually, it's a defense vs. offense but the game can be very addicting. You've got engineers, medics, spies, and soldiers. All sorts of weapons you can choose from, experience points you gain which can increase your stats and abilities, and also gives you ranks. Check it out.
