    Alternative to AOL Instant Messenger

    AIM just gave one of our computers a virus with the stupid AIM today popup links that always come up...

    AIM is pretty much a mainstream form of contact for most people, and we'd still like to be able to talk to people that are on AIM...

    Is there any program that would be able to do this? I'm just sick of AOL and all the crud you have to put up with to use their awful messenger.

          ICQ2003b will talk to people on current versions of aim, but not AIM express or some older versions.

              msn and icq irc work pretty well those ive tried and liked me being a primary AIM user
              yahoo messenger is slow sometimes

                      i use trillain too.

                      it can do AIM, ICQ, MSN, IRC, and YAHOO so if you have an AIM account just plop in your username and password. I think it might be able to get your buddy list too.

                                          yeah it gets your buddy list, i use it at my dads house. I dont reall ylike it that much. Cant follow links in profiles, that kinda pisses me off.

                                          HAHA and buying a mac, well i think the redvsblue psa about macs anwsers all questions why i wont buy a mac.

                                                          Will Yahoo! instant messenger be able to talk with an Aol instant messenger user? If not what will? I have comcast, but have wanted instant messenger for a while now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
