thanks, but if i added 130 i could get a body i actually like, a trigger i like more, the color scheme i like, the valve i personally prefer, and a few more things.

to that other guy: i am getting an rt pro, just with different things on it, through logicpaintball.

The tac one is the exact same thing as an RT pro, almost. I am more than willing to bet that you could buy one and trade your tac one body for a ULE body then all would be well..

Tacone is just a paintball marker... doesn't HAVE to be for woods...

Play with a gun that works, Personally... I think spending so much money is stupid, unless you can do it... and still play the game. Too many times do I see kids sell everything they have to get their dream gun, and find they don't have the money to play, or miss out on other stuff. (Example, they sell their computer.) Now they have no way to go on the internet and such.

Just play the sport... you don't need that kind of gun to play.

Hell, I had more fun playing pump then I did with my mag... pumps are fun

You sold your a5 just because you wanted a more expensive marker? Do you not like low or mid ranged markers for some reason

i dont hate them, it's just my A-5 was a gas hog, inaccurate even with after market barrels and matching paint, slow, and impossible to walk without putting in new springs or a special trigger frame.

I'm 14 and I know how it is. You cant really get a job and your strapped for cash. At your age, you dont need to spend that much on a marker. You have a dream gun and you will have the money, but what are you going to do with it once your broke? Set yourself a limit. Buy a classic valve'd mag w/ level 10, that will suite you just fine. If you have 800 to spend that's great, but only spend 400 of it. You'll be happy that you didnt spend it all. If you do, no more movies with friends, no more buying upgrades or other stuff. You will be just as happy with a classic valve as you will with an x-valve. And you will have some money to show for it.
Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

Wow, lots of bashing(harsh word) on this kid. I am 15 at this current time, and am picking up a shocktech dm4 in the next week or so. It is not hard to get money if you REALLY want to. I have never had a real job in my 3 years of playing paintball, and my parents didn't pay for anything of mine up until recently my dad helps me out with paint since I got on a new team and need to play every weekend.

Basically what I've been doing for stuff.

I only buy used, I haven't bought something new in a long time, I have found awesome deals buying used, really helps out.

Once you get that 400 you got there, find a really good deal on a used gun you could sell to someone for more. One time I bought a 2k3 cocker that was "broken", just need to be lubed and timed for only 125 dollars. I re-sold it for 250.

Mowing lawns is good, too bad all the mexican's took all the lawn mowing jobs.

Holidays are good money makers for sure.

Finally, now that I'm older I've started selling sandana's on pbn, and recently started selling gear bags here on AO, both of which help me pay for all my stuff.

I started out with a tippmann 3 years ago, I have just sold it and bought something alittle better. I did that for like 2 years till I got my Z timmy, and I have been trading that around and with sponsorship stuff with my new team I'm buying a shocktech dm4. Being young and trying to play is hard, just got to be dedicated and work hard to get money and you can.

I say build a spare parts cocker.

Go on the classifieds, but up all the stock spare parts that people no longer need because they upgraded on their cocker, and build yourself one. Its alot cheaper, Works pretty good, and gives you great experiance and knowledge about how your gun works.

                            And its cheap.
(And what im trying to do as a low cost temporary hobbie )

I think we all jumped on him because he started laying out that "gat" crap. He's only 13 so I suppose he doesn't know better - his friends use the term and they probably don't know or understand why the word isn't good for the game.

WGPForLife: My advice is keep saving money the way you are now and do odd jobs and the like to build up your cash pool. If you've already got $400 then you've come a long way to what you'd need for a decent setup.
I would like to point out that you can get a base package 'mag and put a dallara/karta/etc on it later. The gripframe I would upgrade because that's performance, same with the barrel, but the body is just looks.

Not to shoot you down or anything, but face it - you're just 13. It sounds like you've been playing paintball for at least a little while now so you should have noticed that a slick body and mint anno job don't exactly make the paintballs hit their targets better. The difference between a $400 RTP and a $800 karta/dallara/logic/rogue mag is.... $400! That's it, it's just money - money that you're a little short of.

You might want to think about picking up a used 'mag - if the previous owner took even decent care of it it'll shoot as good as new. It might be upgraded a bit beyond what your budget can manage. Even if you get a bone stock 'mag used, it'll be money in the bank for later - either the air system you'll need for when your friend gets back or maybe save it for a car(or a x-mag....).
