My computer falls from a table with the network card in it, and smashes up the network card and what looks like the pins inside. I take it to CompUSA, and they have a some jerk talking down to me because i called it a pcmcia socket, he goes do you know what that stands for? i was like uhh no and he goes well then why do you say it? anyways, he tells us that it will be 140$ to just look at it, and they are backed up for more than a week. a week goes by, and two days later he calls me and tells me that "a few pins are bent, they cant fix it", it seems like they could maybe just try to bend them back? nope that would be wayyyy too easy and might even cost them extra money! Now, before that, the computer had not had ONE problem, i had Spysweeper, ad-aware with the latest updates, spybot search and destroy, spyblaster, and used mozilla firefox, this computer was clean as a whistle with not one techincal problem. I had a few earlier that had stopped randomly that were because of Windows ME. Anyways, i get the computer back, plug the usb wireless internet in, and im rolling. all of a sudden, my computer shuts down. i figured hey i have a a few windows open, and aim was on, maybe it overloaded or something. i figure no biggie, i just cant do that anymore (note:i used to be able to browse through 20+ windows, aim going, music playing, no problems). i turn it back on, the scandisk starts to run because of the improper shut down, and then it shuts down again. now im starting to be annoyed. i turn it back on AGAIN and this time i get all the way to the log on screen before it shuts down. i turn it back on YET AGAIN and let the scan disk run a thorough check this time. it doesnt shut down, and is fine, stayed on all night. then today, it has happened twice almost like that. im convinced that CompUSA put my computer back together either wrong, or something is out of place or in the way of the power supply, because when it shuts down it is plugged in, and has full battery. you would think if i payed 140$ for them to just look at, they could atleast put it back together right if not fix it for the same fee. now im left with my brothers identical laptop which is working right now, but always messes up, and my computer is so tempermental i hate using it.
I'm convinced that this is the work of CompUSA.

It doesnt shut off like yours, but it screws up doing the simplest thing( opening up one IE Explorer). If I were you I'd go to the manager and tell him about the rude person working there. Good luck with everything, computer problems
