Need some lawsuit advice

not that we all arent the best legal advisors but do what your lawyer (hopefully a good one) says. you said u are worried because he is biased, but thats a good thing. hes greedy! he wants you to win so he gets paid and he wants you to win as much as possible so he gets paid as much as possible

both my parents are lawyers. lol sometimes my dad represents ppl that can pay us money, but thats how i got an SKS and a big TV for free, and other stuff too

Once again, thanks for the advice. I'm thinking right not maybe in the 150 range, since the lawyer will most likely take 30% out. I might be able to get 250 out of it, but the fact is, I didn't go through 250k worth of pain and suffering and I don't want to be a jerk and sue for that much (although I would love to see the stupid insurance agency cry about it). When you look at my injuries you might think that the accident wasn't that bad, but I gotxtremely lucky, considering he was driving a 3/4 ton extended cab pickup (which also got totaled) and I decided to drive my sisters blazer that day instead of my car. It's weir thinking about how if I would have just said hi to someone walking out of school, it never would have happened.

Your honesty is refreshing. You should go for exactly the amount that you feel is owed to you. There is a caveat; the insurance company will pay exactly as much coverage as he has. If he has $100,000 limit, that's all you'll get out of them; the other $50 G's would come out of his pocket, if he can pay it. If he has solid coverage ($300,000), then that's the cieling you're going to be working with. I am going to guess he doesn't have that much, though. Bottom line, you need a lawyer. It sounds like a strong case (was he cited as the primary cause? Did he admit to running the sign? Were there witnesses?) as long as you have proof of his liability, so getting a decent lawyer shouldn't be hard. Another thing: STOP TALKING TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. Until you have a lawyer, DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. When contacted, refer them to your counsel. Furthermore, STOP POSTING ABOUT THIS. If you decide to go for more than the amount stated above, your claim that you "didn't go through $250,000" worth of pain, and anything else you have stated in this forum, is admissable. Not that they would know what you're upto on this forum, but you never, never know, so stop talking.
