Democrats like to abort fetuses and eat them/play recreational games with them. IE fetus table tennis.
Republicans would rather see those fetuses grow into intelligent men/women.

Real answer-

they are pretty much the same, and there is a lot of crossover, but:

republicans favor foreign intervention when america is "threatened"
democrats don't like attacking except in retaliation
-the exception is that nearly every democrat voted to appropriate money for the Iraq War

-republicans used to support the second ammendment, but now only do with certain restrictions
-democrats hate guns

-the republican base is small business and christian extremists
-the democratic base is unions and blacks


contrary to popular belief, large corporations almost never favor either political party because its much easier for them to donate equally to both and get what they want either way.

btw, the Libertarian party is the only political organization of real americans, so if you have a choice you should write a paper on them. I'd be happy to explain anything relating to the libertarian position on the issues.

Not all dem's are opposed to guns. They are opposed to guns that aren't necessary to have in every day life, houses, church's, stores, etc. (Assault weapons are an example) Dem's are usually supported by the middle/working classes. Rep's are usually supported by the upper class and religious zealots. Really both parties have their bad flaws and both have their seperate agenda. In the end both attack the other to make themselves look better.

Not for about 50 years. Republicans are a party of the rural area, Democrats are a party of the cities.

The main difference is Democrats favor expanding social services along every branch of governemnt, but primarily in federal government. Republicans favor smaller government, especially federal government.

They are not the advocates of small government that they used to be. If you care about america, you vote libertarian.

Nothing more I hate more then the democratic and republican parties, it is just stupid. I would love to see how this years election would turn out if those two words werent around and it was just canidate 1 vs 2 not republican vs democrate.

In all honesty go elswhere for your info. the maturity on AO is so low, mostly due to the age of the respondants, that you will get some pretty wild answers. do alittle history search on what each party has done in the past and make your own decision! Dont let someone else tell you what to belive..
