An average metal guitarist or vocalist is a better musician than the best rapper. Simple as that.

Speaking of awsome....I recommend everyone go out and buy Wages of Sin or Anthems of Rebellion by Arch Enemy....and do it now.

Python, i respect you, but im sorry, Arch Enemy is no way to wage talent of a metal musician.

But, Im still wanting to know what he thinks metal is, if he thinks Slipknot and Godsmack(etc...) are metal, he is horribly mistaken. And anyways, "metal" is a VERY broad term to use, what kind of metal? Death metal? Goregrind/metal? Black Metal? Speed Metal? Thrash Metal? Metal-core? Nu-Metal? Butt-Metal? So many choices...

I dunno dude. I will admit that there are more talented outfits in Metal, but likewise, I think Arch Enemy has alot going for em. Especially Angela. Not just because she's female, but because she's filling the shoes formerly occupied by a guy. And on top of that, the vocal style in that genre is simply a tough one to master....and it's something I think she's doing very well. Furthermore, the techincial ability of their guitarists is simply amazing. They can hit into so many different sounds, from high solos to down and dirty rhythm lines.

Also along the same lines is Meshuggah. If you haven't listened to Meshuggah, give em a shot. They seriously are talent in human form.

Yeah, I do respect them because of the chick singer, and yes it is some what of a tough style to master, I can get a good growl and scream and stuff going if i get into it, but Im a guitar player, so i let my fingers do the work. Ive listened to Meshuggah before, i think...and if I remember it right, it was rad.

Hey, would you like to check out my bands demo? We finished it, i posted the first song we finished, not too many AOers took a liking to it, but the rest is SOOOOO much better, and i would appreciate some feedback. Like everyone said, the quality of music is mostly oppinion. But like others have said rappers... ryme words to a computer generated beat. If they were to do the same thing to actual music, maybe my oppinion would be different. But until then I'm going to have to say metal. I have heard some awsome metal, most metal bands have sweet, sometimes extremely technical guitar solos, drum solos, and unimitatable vocals. Anyone with half a brain could be a rapper, its just a matter of how much people like you.
You smell like dookie... No really though.

lol, rad is about the perfect word to describe them. I have heard them classified as both Cronk and math metal before but to be honest, they are truely one of the most unqiue bands to come from any country. Their sound is impossible to cover and I think they don't get the attention they deserve.

If im not mistaken, they're goin on the Jagermeister tour with Slayer and hatebreed and mastadon, but that may be false, can't remember, dont feel like lookin it up.
