Hey Fragtek. Maybe you might know something about a rifle I have. Its a R. Overbaugh custom 30-06. I can't host a pic right now so I can't post it. Its a Mauser98 but completely custom. Jeweled bolt with an unbelievable stock. I can't really find any info on it. I picked it up with a couple others. I went to a gun show where someone was selling a couple of them which were all in the $3-5,000 range. I don't think mine was as nice as those but close. He wanted me to bring it in but I didn't get any info from him like history or anything. I will post a pic in a while hopefully. Just curious if anyone knows anything.

i can try and get pics but all the serial numbers are engraved on the bolt and the barrel and they are very hard for my crappy camera to pick up. I've sent out some emails to some other custom stock makers to see if they have any idea.Comment

Good luck with it... How much did you get it for? Or was it an inheritance?

That browning looks nice, i'm trying to find a cheaper Over Under right now myself, the only shottie we have in our house right now is a feather-weight 12ga, which will bruise my shoulder after a few shots
I'm trying to find a cheap-ish 28 or 20 right now, probably 20 since the ammo is cheaper. KNow any good sites too pick something up from?

Strange, but your allowed to use scopes on the standard rifles?Originally posted by FragTekBignslo - Good catch, i'll edit that
Nice new rifle ya got there. Here in VA we aren't allowed to scope our muzzle loaders or use shotgun primers
NJ blows for restrictions. We cannot use any rifle's other than muzzleloaders or slug barrel shotguns.
I missed twice last year with my traditional at 90 yards w/ open sites and was tired of having to cover the hammer when it rained.
CasingBill,
Very nice mauser!Comment

You don't want to know..... Several years ago, my uncle bought about 10 guns from a guy. That being one of them. I don't know what he paid. A couple months later, he asked me if I wanted to buy any. I said sure and bought that and a 20ga. Mossberg for $500. I had no idea what it could be worth, I just thought it looked sweet. I have never shot it and I'm not sure it ever has been.Comment

The only laws that are different here in VA than WA (where I moved from) are the full-auto laws, VA they're legal and in WA they're not. Other than that I haven't seen any restrictions that differ at all. We couldn't use scopes or shotgun primers on our muzzle loaders in WA either. They're trying to keep muzzle loading as primitve as possible is my guess. I know some states don't allow inline muzzle loaders.Originally posted by Big'n sloStrange, but your allowed to use scopes on the standard rifles?

If you hunt the modern rifle season anything goes for gun accessories in WA and here in VA.
