    Keg Taps

Tonight we got a keg for our dorm room. We had an empty keg to trade in but had to rent a tap. I was wondering if most taps are universal or if there are many different types of taps for different kegs. I was looking to buy a tap but I am not sure what kind to buy. Since our party is raging I want to do this more often. Any info on just regular air pump style taps would be apreciated.

bah, pump kegs suck, you waste all your time pumping it, just hook up a co2 tank to it.

Nah a CO2 setup is to costly and we would just be using it maybe once a month for dorm parties which were not supposed to have. A pump tap is way more simple when the keg is sitting in a trashcan in your bathroom. Thanks for that link to that website.

Dude just find a liquor store that has a cheap rental fee for the tap, and keep it.

The liquor store near me, at least, is $20 deposit for the tap. Just say someone stole it, forfeit the deposit, and bang, $20 tap instead of paying $40+ for a new one.

If you are going to get a tap, get a "D" Tap. It'll work with the majority of American beers.
