Stewie disagrees, and so do I. Sigs are good, even though there are a few things I don't like about them (size limit even if they are hosted on your own server).

i vote that we require all members to have a posting license. tests would include grammar, basic spelling, and ability to follow simple instructions. there would also be basic logic and reasoning tests such as the ability to put ideas into a proper sequence as well as form logical connections.

It would get way to quite here!

But sadly I can't use it yet, its too big (97K). Hehe, thats pretty good when uncompressed all the frames come out to about 500K. I'm still working on making it smaller without much loss of quality. Thats why I have a non animated sig right now. I don't want to make the mods angry.

One for stewie and one for the text. That way you can make the text part of it alot lower size.

I believe that is against the rules, although thats the best solution. I'll ask a mod.

i think we should leave the sigs. Sometimes when i browse AO, the sigs become how i identify people. When i think of say 1stdeadeye, his punisher sig comes to mind and lately when i hear mango, that weird laughing purple smily comes to mind. On PBN, alot of people use default avatars or rip them off of another user and their posts blend together. The sigs are unique and allow you to attach them to a certain poster and a certain personality. Since sigs are hommade, it is rare to see two users with the same sig and it sets the users on AO apart

bzzzzzt wrong. actually mango wouldn't have any trouble passing the test. all mango's posts are in fact spelled correctly have proper grammar and make sense. you may think they're stupid and useless. that's your opinion. but at least they're coherent. unlike some people's. besides even if they weren't, it's just like a driver's test. how you drive during the test may or may not be how you drive on the road. it would be the moderators' job to police the posts. at least they exibited that they are capabe of posting something readable whether they actually do or not.
