Ofcourse he saw it. I wrote that message from his computer(that I will steal).

I make random threats against him constantly. Some go thru, some don't. Like I threatened to wake him up by putting one of my 250W subs under his face and playing Mayhem at 9 am. He doubted me, so I did it.

I threatened to fill his pillow with forks. He doubted me, so I did it.

I threatened to call his girlfriend and tell her about all the **** he does. He doubted me, so I did it.

I threatened to boil his 311 cd in aluminum. He doubted me, so I did it.

Never the less, he saw it, and knows to fear it.
    BLOODY MURDER!

Yea, so my entire life was on that laptop. 100+ pages of notes, about 10 papers, all of my credit card information, prive information (social security number and such), all of my graphic work, over 3000 songs, programs I can never get back........... EVERYTHING.

When i find out who has it......its gonna be war. You will see it on CNN "WVU Student hangs his old roommate infront of Student Union"

      then after

This is why I say a laptop is a bad idea for college. It's amazing the number of laptops that get stolen each year.

Um, I know you're going with the whole new lighter side of the friendly corner but that statement is bunk and you know it. Not everyone's parent's put them through college.

I bought my own laptop, and I"m still making payments on it. If it got stolen I'd be pissed as hell too and no one is going to buy me a new one.

This is why I went most of my college carrer without a roomate and am perfectly happy with that.

That's why I didn't bring a laptop to school. What is a theif going to grab first, my bulky desktop or my roomates laptop.
At Oneonta where I was last year the year before I got their a group of people stole about 50 laptops on campus then like idiots tried to sell them in town. Sure enough they got caught and everyone got their computer back but after loosing it for that long most had already bought replacements and redone the work. Oh and always back up your work oh smart one.

I also know their was some insurance company that offered to insure things in your dorm for very little money (a couple hundred at most if you choose the max covereage). If you are going to have a laptop that may be worth it. And it probably would have been a good idea to get a police report (if you didn't) just incase it is recovered.

That insurance idea is really pretty good. If you already have car insurance, I know you can probaly get renters insurance too. Then you'll get the "multi-policy discount" and the renters insurance will be free.

                  for future reference.

mails the IP Address of your machine to you once a day, as you specify in the software. that way. if the machine isnt formatted, and ever plugged into an active internet connection, you can get the IP, contact the ISP/police, and give them that information to get your pc back. little late for this now.. but, as i said, for future reference.

My parents didnt even really buy my laptop, it was a gift from my grandfather for graduation. He's 80 years old and isnt the wealthiest man alive, so I'd hate to tell him my laptop was stolen. Last year during Christmas i bought a Toshiba laptop for 500 dollers from best buy on Black Friday. I sold it a few months later for more then I bought it for. Hopefully they will have a deal like that again. If not, then I think im taking a semester off and joining the US Coast Guard to help pay for a new one. Thats not the reason why im joining, but its partly because i need money.

And next time i see my old roommate downtown at night, all hell is gonna break loose.

LOL! It's just a laptop. You don't *NEED* a computer to go to college. I know a few people who do not own them and do just fine. There are such things as computer labs. It is just a luxury. Your logic is extremely flawed in saying you need to join the Coast Guard to pay for a new one.

Dude you don't need a laptop, just get a desktop the P3's machines are hella cheap and fast enough to run program you would NEED for school (i'm actually using one I got for free as a footrest as I type). Furthermore you don't need a computer at all, all schools have them in the library and most have a small lab in the dorms.

How do you plan on joining the coastguard for a semester? You think they are going to give a a contract where you basically go in, get trained and as soon as you are done with training you're out and off to school again? They are going to want two years minimum, probably three. Most people who do that saying they are going to go back to school afterwards never do get around to going back to school. You can afford it (well maybie not at a private school), their is state aid, fedral aid, private scholarships, you can get a job, workstudy, student loans, family helping or loaning you money. There are a million and one ways to pay for school if you have the desire to go. Looseing a laptop isn't a catastrphe.

No Mango, I was originally going to go into the service at 17, but my parents wouldnt sign. They know I'm going in eventually, its just when? I already to my ASVAB and did decently well. It's either i go next semester or next year. Coast Guard would help to pay for a new laptop. Yes, i DO need a computer, I use it for everything. The computer labs are nowhere near my dorm and are only open till a certain time.

Its called the coast guard reserves. I go to basic for 8 weeks, and I do recieve college credits for it. Then one weekend a month I go to pittsburgh for duty.

                                Coast Guard duty in Pittsburgh?

Should it not be at the actual coast?
