YES.

I've always wondered how the south teaches the civil war and what they call it. My history teacher says they teach it differantly.

Yeah that is a big ole stereotype, and if you base your view of the South on Family guy then, well, that's only half right .

Not really though. We learn the Civil War just like any other, and MOST of us think slavery was wrong. There are racists everywhere, but there happen to be a small bit more down here than elsewhere. I'm talking like maybe 5% more or something, it's not like half of everyone you see is a racist. But yeah, your history teacher is a moron. We all call it the Civil War, are glad the North won, etc. All the people with the confederate flags don't like slavery, it's sorta like Mag people really like mags even if they know they perform as good as others. Sorta like the cocker debate, some like mags even though they are about the same. It's a pride thing, kinda a sub-patriotism thing. Of course then theres those "south will rise again" people, givin' us hicks a bad name...

Humid..? I cant really tell if its humid or not, its humid in the summer occasionly, but ive never been to ANY place and noticed a difference. So i unno on that.. but then again im only in North Carolina.

And yes our Text Book is the same, but we have a play button on the front that reads the title to us.

Well, yes and no, my hometown is a civil war battlefield so all we ever really learned about in history class growing up was about the Civil War. I never learned about any part of american history past WW2 till I took a world history class in highschool. The majority of the time was spent learning about the civil war. My yankee friends say that in the north they teach the war's main cause as a "fight against slavery", I can say that for the most part I was taught that the war's main cause was a "fight for states' rights". Of course those reasons are both far to simplistic, but you can see how perspectives change depending on were you are taught.


I've always liked english people that I've met, for the most part they've been very witty and like to drink.
