Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 are completley different games on completley different platforms. There's no comparison between the two, I don't knwo why people even try.

on gamespy.com they had a poll of the more anticipated game between half-life and halo. Just guess who won. just guess. yep it was halo2 by thousands. yes thousands so suck it. Halo rocks half-life's socks

The only reason they are winning that poll is because Bungie forum fanatic fanboys flooded GS and voted. Halo is the most hyped mediocre FPS for its time. Now I too was following Halo before Bungie was bought by Microsoft(the devil incarnite). Halo was going to be the next Half life/Tribes/Quake/SS2//Codename Eagle(the predecessor of BF1942) in terms of originality, but got stripped when it hit the Xbox. The biggest let down I have ever seen for many FPS PC people. When comparing games, Halo doesn't get anything, HL on the other hand, gets comparisons all the time, due to its innovations in storyline, gameplay mod capabilities and the game is how old? more than 5+ years? Heck I think Goldeneye for the 64 was a better FPS than Halo. Halo=mediocre. Halo 2=mediocre with dual weilding and bump mapping. HL2=Innovational with physics, graphics, and story. No comparison.

i think halo 2 is going to be a letdown. Not because its not going to be a great game, because i really think it is. But there is ALOT of Hype, way too much for 1 game.

I agree that the dual weilding thing is a little overrated, but what you said about modability for half life and all I disagree with. I hate modded Xboxes, my friend has one and thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread. I can't stand it for more than like an hour or so a week tops. It gets old REALLY fast.

You call it a mediocre FPS. If it is soooo mediocre why does it have soooo many fans, Because all you play are pc games and Gearbox not Bungie up the pc version. Even LAN on pc lags really badly. Halo pre xbox wasn't even a friggin' FPS it was all third person. Bungie made the changes because they felt they were best. You think goldeneye was a better FPS? Maybe you should learn to use more than one joystick at a time. Halo Xbox is awesome because there is no lag and no one can cheat only use glitches readily available to everyone. Finally halo has multiplayer vehicles. Halo 2's ad campaign atleast to me has been lack luster everywhere but the internet.

I never played halo singleplayer untill recently. And the only reason I did that, was so I could understand Halo 2. It's all about having fun playing multiplayer. It's fun. Who cares about the story line, the originality, all that crap that doesn't matter. People have fun playing it, period. Who the hell cares if its "good" or "bad?"

Half-Life on the other hand was the opposite, it had awsome singleplayer, and sucky multiplayer. It relied on mods to become famous online.

With its mods halflife became fun online.

The story was a part of what made halo. it wasnt some crappy plot it had good twist and turns making u want to play just one more level. Also the multiplayer is awsome.

after i played through the game once, i kept getting bored trying to play through it again.
awsome story the first time you play it.
only took a friend and I 4 hours to whiz through it on easy.

Shoot yeah. Not only is it harder to do and takes you more continues, but the levels are actually longer. One level on Legendary can take you a good two hours. Specially the Library

play T&R on heroic or legendary. When the invisible elites come out coop gets interesting and very fun.

You know if you spend long enough in engineering while switching weapons with the flood you can make it so projectiles wont exist. Melee only . Just don't cross a loading zone. Also look at the banshees on the Maw. For some reason they have their hatch open but still fly. You can jack them by jumping and hitting X/E to hop in. From there you can fly a shee out of the Maw.

on the level right before the maw i took a bansee and flew around the ship and crashed on top and walked around. pretty sick
