OK have any of you guys actually read what Phil's saying? He is saying that a bazillion threads a day with smilies in them are worthless. Guess what? They are! Now one a week might be funny, but I see so many closed threads nowadays that it's getting rediculous. Not because the threads don't deserve to be closed, it's that so many people are posting crap that SHOULD be closed! I mean the smilies were funny at first, but now it's a bunch of junk. The fruit cats, well OK they are pretty funny. But the smilies are starting to get old, and Phil called him on it. I remember a day when AO had good things to say in the friendly corner... intelligent things... NOT pbn crap! Anyone actually read that? I never do because every time I try it's all a bunch of worthless, meaningless crap that invokes zero discussion and in general seems like a bunch of monkeys with typewriters. When cphil and the other mods close stuff, it's a good thing. There is no content to the smiley threads. None. Maybe a little humor, but very little. The mods here rock. I don't think a vote would be good at ALL for mods, because then it can easily become politics (think about it... forum politics... what a nightmare. When one big poster starts posting some "funny" crap he gets all the support from the guys who are here for like a week or two, then when the big whores start bad-mouthing the mods for doing a GOOD job of doing their job everyone turns against him...). Voting=bad. Like the man said, it's not a democracy here. This is an online forum. Everything here should be about paintball, except for friendly, which is where to post TOPICS for DISCUSSION that have some value to them. Is a topic? No. So listen to the mods. They're good for you.

Why not just have it limited to one thread per day.... and title it appropriately? Makes sense to me... I can go with that.

Well.... that was probably not a good choice to use here. Normaly we define post whores as people most concerned with building their post count regardless of quality of the posts. But in this case its more that they were just bored and found a means of amusement that resulted in post with no topic of discussion. So its slightly different in this case.

Lets change this phenom to "Post Nothings"

Well I AM ASKING for you input am I not? I don't have to but I am! Think about it and suggest something. I can't work without something to work with. You guys sleep on this and think about what would be an acceptable alternative... but mind you... within some of the restrictions I have to hold you too. I realize thats not total freedom. But in fact I really don't have total freedom to let you run amuck either. So lets work on this. I am receptive to some solution for you.

I see it like this I understand where Mango's coming from trying to lighten things up. And I think a lot of his posts do that. I love his "I like Eggs" thread, "Flying Lawnmower" ect, where he posts funny of interesting links or information. But what I could do without is when I see the entire friendly's :last post by Mango

i know i agree that you try to ballence us and the owners and that you dont HAVE to do anything for us. but yet again i made my suggestion which i believe is well with in your powers. allows random post where they wont push good topics off the page and where the complaining people dont have to see them. and would be deleted periodicly as to not take up alot of room

Now mind you that you are assuming "us" is every AO member...and its not.

Far from it. Your a very small minority from what I can see. And still I am trying to allow you your small space of it all. The problem came when you decided to take over ALL of the space you could without regard for others and most post were well within the rights of the Mods to close for several reasons. So lets not exagerate the position you are in verses the position I am representing. The owner has not even weighed in on this. Other members of a different oppinion have....

However I do feel the need to do something to make as many members happy as I can within reason. So I am trying to give you some space.

So lets start from there.
