AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I personally wouldn't recommend a BC Rich; i'm just not a fan.
I think if you want a metal-esque guitar, go for an ESP. They have all the "pointy" body styles. Get something from the EX series, or something along those lines.
What type of body are you going for, and could you give a more definitive price range, because I know there is a limit, even if you say money isn't an issue.

BC Rich has more of the 'pointy body styles' than any other guitar manufacturer, to my knowledge... ESPs are nice too, probably a bit more expensive...
I should have mentioned Gibson Les Pauls as well... Probably the best all-around guitar there is... You can use them for ANY kind of music, and it will sound great...
WELL, Id know a crapload about guitars, Saying ive been playing for about 8 yrs now. I too am into meatallica and heavy rock/metal/etc. But remember, dont spend alot of money if your not going to get into this so you might wanna Start small, spend $100 on a cheap Fender Squier strat, and a small Crate amp or fender amp. If you decide you like it, then go big!
IF your looking for that guitar to give you that sound, get an Ibanez! (Maybe start with an RG270 or up) Then, if thats not enough, get a set of EMG Pickups to go with it.
NExt, Get a good amp. Line 6 is ok, but they just over charge for the effects. Buy a Crate, or if your looking to go big get a Marshall halfstack they run pretty cheap but good quality. Then buy the effects. IF it doesnt have 2x12" or more speaker, then its sound is crap!
Next buy FX pedals. I currently have a DOD FX86 Death metal distortion and a RP300 from DIGITech ; Freakin nice sound! or, if your into customizing sound, Buy a Digitech, DO NOT BUY A POD. Thatll work just fine for about ne sounds ur lookin for (Metallica, disturbed, System, etc)
Ibanez!!!!!!! i rock my Ibanez Axstar and i can play just about any heavy metal song but mostly Metallica songs i can play kuriks parts soo awsomely i say Ibanez or Gibson!!!

I know they have pointy body styles, but if you noticed I said I wouldn't recommend them because I don't think they make the greatest guitars, on top of the fact that they may have "pointy" bodies, but they are disgustingly overdone.
the only reason i would spend money on a bc rich, is if it was one of the warlocks that was made of clear plexi glass. but other than that get a gibson/epi. or ibanez, or if you want to go all out and ger a great guitar get a prs.

I believe that you said that you 'just weren't a fan'... I would agree that some are overdone, but some aren't...
ive been playing for quite a few years and have tried many different styles of guitar. I always resort back to my Les Pauls. They have an unmatched sound. Great for heavy metal. 1 of the best pick up combinations Ive found is a Invader (very heavy sound) in the bridge and a 59 (very creamy sound) in the neck. Mixing those makes a great sound.
When true evil smacks you in the face you never forget it.
