AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
watch the knives with the serrated blades, i know in some states thats illeagle.
Really? I didnt know that... hmm well pretty much whenver i do something Illegal its REALLY illegal, and i have to run and ditch everything anyway.... So, not to worried about legal-osity
Cmon someone give me sum news on The Storm (II) Folders
but i ditched it when i was running from the cops last friday.. Good thing cuz they got me
What were you doing lol?
NEVER RUN FROM THE COPS. You have a better chance of getting away with it sticking around and talking yourself out.
I have a Smith and Wesson... nothing fancy.. just cuts whatever I need to be cut. Use it maybe once or twice a week. I was told on here to stay away from them..*shrugs* I like it. It works.
Well I had a friend sleeping over rite, and we snuck out to uhh.... chill..... =X
But anyway it was like 1:30 and all of sudden we see a cop car, and we run, all of sudden theres like 6 cop cars... I get away b/c i play pball... and he gets caught, and the cop makes him tell him where i was... We ran cuz there was actually a chance we could get away, and i would be grounded forever (which i am) if we got caught... And i would miss my girlfreinds birthday ... whihc i did...

I tihkn ima get the Storm or Storm II
Pyro, After looking a bit I think what your talkin about is "The Kershaw Whirlwind" now is this one Spring Assisted like Taylors?...
That's the one I have, they are both whirlwinds, both spring assited. The only differance is the blade.
I thought spring assisted knives were legal, a switchblade is defind as opening by pushing a button? I don't think sports authority would carry illigle knives.

I have one too it's the Smith and Weapons Swap black partially serated blade. I cannot get a nice edge on it unless I use a sharpening wheel on a beanch grinder.

Why did you run? They ask what you're doing just say you couldn't sleep and felt like going for a walk. The chances of them checking you for a weapon are pretty slim.
You would think so, wouldn't you?
But sometimes cops are dinks and tell your parents we were causing trouble (We were quite and respectful, in the good part of town..no curfew...) and gets you into trouble anyways.
/rant about hating bad cops
All of the knives mentioned are good ones. It all boils down to personal preference and pocket change.
I own a Buck and a Spyderco. I actually own a spyderco that you (Echo 419) put up a picture for. I am left handed and wanted to carry the knife point up in my pocket. That one did the trick.
The Buck has a lifetime warranty, no receipt needed. Just send the bad boy in and they will fix it for you, if you haven't abused it unecessarily.
As for blade serration...it is a plus and a minus. The plus is that it cuts much better. The minus is that it is difficult (i.e. more expensive) to get sharpened. I have never heard of a law that outlaws serrated knives. I doubt one exists and would have to see the penal code section to believe it. However some states do have laws against srping assisted blades to check into that first.
Running from cops is stupid. You probably could have talked your way out of it. Unless the knife was illegal for you to have anyways I wouldn't have worried about it. If the knife was illegal that just shows you did two stupid things.

Sometimes cops are not nice (nice avoidance of the swear filter BTW) because they have to be that way. They are not your best friends. They are not your friends period. They are there to keep you out of harm's way and to enforce the laws of the land that the people (by proxy) have put in place. If my 14 year old kid was out at 1:30 am, I would expect the police to bring him home. I would also not be buying him a knife.

Trying to not take this too off topic, so I'll post a picture of my knive.

Why did you quote me for that?
Not have to be nice to people not doing anything wrong?
Actually, we normally would go out at night and talk to cops during our walks. This one just happened to be a super jerk. Keep us out of harms way? Did you read the part I said good part of town? Enforce laws? Like not walking single file in the break down lane? oooh yea that's a good one. That's what he justified questioning us with. And we were all 17.
/more ranting.
Neitther, go Benchmade. As far as over-the-counter knives go, Benchmark is the industry leader. Plus, they have some of the best knife desingers around. My two carry knives:
