Well I received my Kouki Tail lights thursday, aparently I wasnt there to receive it but my brother was, what pisses me off is UPS damages my body filler by either running it over, stepping on it etc etc. Well they think they are smooth and since the box was damaged and ripped in half they try to retape it as if nothing happened. What gripes me is they dont even knock on the door since my bro was there to receive it and sign for it well the UPS man just leaves it there and runs off. In the pics you'll see some of the damage spots, it may seem like its not much damage its because I had to bang it out and try to straighten it out it literally had a 90* bend where the metal gets thin. Oh well luckily I called the company I bought it from and they are sending a new piece for free, and UPS will pay them back. It just pisses me off I spend $500 on tail lights and UPS damages part of it and tries to play it off as nothing happened. As you can see I did a decent job bending it out.

as far as UPS is concerned, that ends their responsbility. you are supposed to inspect packages before signing for them

I believe he said his brother was there to sign for it, but they didn't have him do so, they just left it on the porch.

I work for UPS.

In residential areas that aren't densely populated, near schools, on extremely busy streets, we aren't supposed to wait for a signature unless its signature required. Takes too much time, and especially this time of year, its way too busy to sit there and wait for you to sign. So we leave it in a location we deem safe. Doesn't matter if we see someone watching us or not.

People blame us for beaten to hell packages all the time. However, you fail to realize how often we pick up packages that are in crappy shape, either because the box has been used before or the shipper is just too dumb to use a good box. Secondly, if it's not packed correctly, there's nothing we can do about it. I see no packing material that would bolster the integrity of the cardboard, so it's more apt to get ripped or torn.

That said, obviously there are things that get messed up in the system, it's a result of handling millions and millions of packages a week. If the company will replace it, that's good for you.

friend of mine got a stereo delivered well usp's must have deemed his back yard picnic table as safe. thats where they left it. he called them after checking online saying it was delivered, the confirmed it was delived. well next moring while walking the dog he found it nice and wet.

but i have had a lot of packages i have no complaints with so......

Deem safe meaning safe from any impending weather [meaning if it's a clear day with no rain forecast we can leave it uncovered/not under an overhang... we can't be responsible for you leaving a package outside for two weeks] and not in view of the passing public. Of course not everybody follows these guidelines, but most of us do.

well as you can see from the pics of the package that clearly UPS was to blame, look at the package the tape its clear as opposed to what the company i bought it from used brown tape. Also The box was shipped from Nissan Japan and nissan ships there stuff in Packaging material that I've never seen before it's like a pillow, so whatever happened had to do some tough stuff to rip the package and dent the part. If signature isnt required than WTF is the point of asking me for my signature the other times. This package was insured I would hope that insured packages would be signed for.

if the sender doesnt check signiture required (and pay an extra fee) a sig isn't required. i misread your stuff...i thought you said your brother signed for it.

I have probably the worst UPS story.

Back in 2001 I went to the AGD SuperTour. I had shipped a large create of gear to AGD and had Marcia ship it back to me (I obviously paid them to do so). I had about $6000 worth of gear in this case. Well, I had just moved a month before the event. I got home and waited for the create to show up. A week went by and I emailed Marcia to find out if she mailed it, etc. Well she got me a tracking number and I tracked the package and it showed up as delivered (a few days ago). So I panicked and thought someone had lifted the create off my porch (it was over 50lbs, so not real easy to get up and run away with). I emailed Marcia back and she gave me the address she sent it to...duh, it was my old address. Well I only moved a mile and a half away, so I ran over to the old house. Sure enough it was sitting on the front porch out in the open.

Now, this is the kicker. The packaged required a signature; UPS had tried 3 times to deliver it to the house. The third time, instead of just taking it back to UPS and then ultimately sending it back to AGD, they left it on the porch of a vacant house. It was sitting there out in the open. The house had no curtains on the windows, the big window right on the porch clearly showed that there was no furniture in the house. But they decided to leave it any way.

Luckily it was still there 4 or 5 days after it was left.

Because he shouldn't have to wait for a new one; it should have been done right the first time.

All i know is i have had nothing but good experiances wiht UPS, never had a lost package or a dmaaged one. I have had some probs wiht fed ex before. I had ordered something from Cali once and it took them 4 days to move it through their shipping facility out there. Every night when i checked the status of the package it was jsut at a different end of the facility.
