You ordered a toy, it was not something you HAD to have.
Somewhere in shipping (Im guessing a conveyer belt) the box was torn and damaged.
Someone tried to keep damage from occuring by taping it.
They delivered it according to company policy.
It was damaged when you fully opened it.
You reported it, they sent you a knew one ASAP and UPS will pay for the damage up to insured value.
It cost you a weekend with your new toy.
You pitch a fit like a two year old over it - grow up. I said that like I shouldnt. there are better ways. But this is not a big deal, things happen in life. IF they had not handled it, yeh I could see making this big of a deal, but your stressing over nothing. Thats meant to be friendly, so the first part wasn't.

I learned not to bother worrying about the little things that dont mean anything in the end. I learned it when my children were taken from my house against a court order, taken out of state, and it took me two days of searching to find them.., another week to get them back, that was a year ago. I have never had anything like that happen again, and few things really piss me off now.

Yes it may be a toy to you, it was something I had to have etc etc but I also worked my *** off for it and to see my hard earned dollar for a product that arrived damaged b/c a shipping didnt take the extra precaution to handle it properly when the box says fragile on it than maybe you will understand, I'm still a kid $500 doesnt come so easily to me I had to work 2 months in order for me to actually spend $500 b/c I do have bills to pay. So yes this may seem like a toy but it is something that I worked hard for. Its true what they say you appreciate things more when you work hard for it. I'm sorry things cant be handled so easy like it seems for you.

Im not so sure that UPS is at fault for this. If the package didnt require a signature, then, I guess according to the guy who posted that works for ups, they can leave it at the door, or where ever then deem necessary.

my question to you is, did UPS even knock on the door? Did they try to obtain a signature? I thought the way that UPS operated is that ALL packages require a signature. Ive ordered things from dozens of different places, and each time they got there, it required a signature saying it was recieved before they even gave me the package.

If I were you, and recieved the package in that condition, I would have refused delivery. Make UPS send it back to the shipper, and let the shipper deal with it. Thats what I would have done.

I never said we had to report anything. We deliver the package, the drivers have no idea how its supposed to look. I make a couple hundred pickups a day, and I'd estimate 20% of them come in beat to hell boxes.. so delivering boxes beat to hell isn't out of the ordinary. So the driver probably assumed the packer was a dolt and delivered the package.

And you're "still a kid" but "have bills to pay?" Which is it?

You probably live in an area where we can't driver release it [that's what it's called when we drop it off]. Areas like that include on a busy street, in a densely populated area, near a school, and a few others. They're high risk areas, so we don't leave the stuff.

Our policy is not to require a signature on any package unless in said areas or the package is shipped signature required.

You act though, like you lost this and will never get it back. Look at the big picture here - it cose you a week, you will still get it. Is it worth being that pissed off over (being angry wtih people is not phyiscally good for you btw)? Its not... calm down, understand you will get it, $500 is a lot of money - yes. But you will get one in good condition, it was a mistake by someone, and the company is fixign it

I dont take the internet seriously but I think this thread was taken the wrong way, some people dont read the entire thread, I did state that I called the place I ordered from and they are sending a new body filler in my first original post. Anyways its the principal of the matter, its like going to the grocery store and during pay out and bagging they ruin your eggs and fruit and tell you **** happens and come back in a weel to get new eggs and fruit.

I did read your entire post.
The principle is that mistakes happen, you shouldnt get upset unless they are not corrected. This is not food you can't live wtihout, its a toy. Sure its a lot of money, but is it really so important its worth getting that upset over?

i haven't had any problems with UPS.

we personally know our delivery guy(kinda), so all he does is knock a few times, walks into our house, drops it off, and takes off.

it's always nice to have someone you know delivering things to you

hope you get this all worked outo pumaking.

btw....you've got a nice project goin' on there. just ordered the red and clear tails for my accord. it goes off to tint thursday, and i'll throw some new headlights in around christmas time.

I used DHL when I bought my computer, pretty fast no problems came a day early expected delivery. FEDEX rocks I always use them, I've never had problems with UPS until this thing happened, I stopped using UPS b/c of there expensive prices. What would cost me at UPS to ship a package that weigh 40lbs and was about 11"x8"x7" they charged $34, and with FEDEX same package and materiels they charged me $16 and they were faster by 1 day.

I've always had good experiences with UPS. Until recently with fedex aswell.
My Angel was coming from California via Fedex, but after a few days of no movement on the tracking page I called and spoke with a lady that was very helpful, she said she would try to locate the package and call me back. She called back and said the package must have just skipped a scan because it was in Atlanta and on schedule. It was supposed to be delivered Friday after thanksgiving. I got a call from the same lady Friday morning informing me the package was out for delivery. I asked about a signature and she said I would have to sign for the package, which was cool because I was off for the holiday. SO fast forward to 8:30pm that night still no package. I call Fedex, they have no clue why its not been delivered and tell me to wait until 9:30pm and if its not delivered by then to call back. 9:30 rolls around there's no package, the gentleman I spoke with said I would have to pick the package up myself on Saturday since delivery wasn't available on Sat. He also told me that the driver had attempted delivery at 7:52 pm. Being the crackhead that I am, I stayed home all day awaiting my new toy and there was never an attempt to deliver. I call Fedex Saturday morning and the lady i spoke with said that the DID deliver on saturday and my package was out for delivery. Saturday we had a few tornadoes roll through the area so there was no attempt which i have no problem with seeing as roads were closed ect. SO I call back asking when it would be delivered, i was told tuesday. So i get up Tuesday for work, still says that the package cant be delivered because of hazardous conditions and there's no estimated delivery date. I call fedex after i get to work, the guy calls the local fedex hub and says it is out for delivery. Around noon my wife calls and I got the package. She said the driver knocked on the door and just left, no signature or anything, by the time she got to the door he was already back in his truck. The driver was in a Penske rental truck and in plain street clothes. So the moral of this oh so interesting story is Fedex and UPS both have their issues at times..
