i think its also like a status statement for somepeople, alot of monkey see monkey do...

and "mom i want a ipod for christmas because they are cool, and everyone else has one"

i personally think theres a bunch of mp3 players out there better then the ipod, but this one seems to take the cake.

The reason I'd pick the ipod is its ease of use. No matter all the other players I've screwed around with, the ipod is still the best for navigating a few thousand files.

Why do I need a color LCD screen? So I can drain the battery quicker!
Why do I need a FM Tuner? So I can listen to bad reception crappy radio music, who needs mp3s when I got the radio!
Why do I need a FM Recorder? Duh! So I can listen to the crappy music some other time!
Why do I need the iRiver? Oh thats right, I dont! The iPod plays twice as many formats, WILL have a longer battery life, is better looking, smaller, lighter, and alot better!

Needless to say... Boku wa ipod daisuki desu.

And the crappy radio music is your opinion.
and if you didnt read the post u still get 1 hour more than Ipod... You think ipod doesnt have a backlight whenever u press a button?... Well it does. And if your mp3's arent in folders by Artists then ur crazy anyway

Your mp3s don;t have to be organized by folder, it goes by tags.. and I'm quite diligant about having my mp3s tagged correctly for winamp, so it just carries over for my iPod.

He's talking about the ****-for-quality you get over FM bands, not the type of music..

Color screens don't do anything for me unless there's a camera on there. No point in putting images on it, it has a freaking 2" LCD; you're not going to see any detail.

And I turn my backlight unless I need it. It's easy to do because the iPod is stupid well designed.

I will say that it is good competition, I give it that. But it isnt better than the iPod.

Edit: teufelhunden is correct. I rarely use my backlit screen, only at night while Im driving, and it turns off 2 seconds after Im done! How convenient.

umm yeah until you realize half the stupid screen on the iriver or whatever is taken up by some bars that move to the music and you can't remove them

well it looks nice but not for me looks thick. pluse i can get 20 more gigs of space for 60 bucks

the 40 gig comes with a dock wich are 40 bucks soo if you pay 60 bucks more you get 20 more gigs. thats what im am getting. i dont care if i can put photos on it. my buddy has one witch i think is a rca and you can put movies on it. it looks nice but i am looking for something jest for music.

i like the chart it help me out but what i stated about i am getting the 40 gig ipod (non photo one)

So, 2/3 thirds thicker and almost twice as heavy.

For a color screen, which will let you get to your mp3's better? and a fm receiver.

So do you work for Iriver? or something? What's your angle for shilling the iriver?

Do you plan on introducing us to this product...? And yah Ipod does make the 40G version of this, with alot of AWESOME assecories.. like the extra LCD on the Headphone wiere, so u dont have to take it out of ur pocket.

Guys i was just trying to show a different product, with some more features, It was a well thought out post, And i did state all the advanatges Ipod has over the Iriver, I just dont want everyone to think its the only nice player out there... sorry
