yes, i do know that there are alot of people out there with better stats than me, my point is that i have the potential to easily succeed in the field of engineering. im not going to go to MIT or anything, but a degree in engineering is a degree in engineering, and there is always room for engineers in this world. so dont try to put my dreams down (which are atually a reality) just because you have some kind of insecurity of your own.

yes, starting salary is around 40-50k.

oh and guess what.... the fact that i dont capitalize on this forum, is not going to keep me from getting into college, or pursuing the major that im interested in.

Ok, I'm off douche-mode now, but grades don't equal potential, seriously. Why don't you try going to MIT? A degree is a degree, but certain schools, i.e. MIT, look better.

I am a member of a non paintball forum (they do exist!!) that will warn you twice for things like "AOL speak", meaning IM talk, and also bad spelling and/or punctuation and/or grammar, and if you persist they ban you.

I hate going through pbnation. Its the worst of them all. At least on AO people have conversations and discuss things properly.

I take the time to type things correctly on forums and when typing letters and stuff, but in AIM and chatrooms I don't bother to correct myself unless it sounds retarded without the correction

What I hate more then anything is when people use poor grammar on an ONLINE FORUM THAT IS BROWSED MAINLY BY 15-21 year olds (PBNation, some guy did a poll, only 1 person out of 40 so far has been over 21, Most were 13-14-15-16)

Ok, a person with a 3.7 GPA in HS and going to school for engineering and thinks he will make more money then most people is REALLY misled by someone. Ask around. how many college grad engineer majors are now not doing ANYTHING in the engineering field because there were no jobs. And I am talking smart people.

Our point is not to push you down and destroy your goals and dreams. I guess what a lot of young kids seem to forget that it's okay to be humble. The most self centered people, no matter how smart you are, sometimes can't find good jobs for long because they are:

                a) hard to work with
                b) lack social skills
                c) very self centered and egotistical
                d) stubborn and closed minded
                e) all of the above

When you start working with other people...how you come across will matter in the long run. Learn to be humble.

                            3.7 is nothing.

one of my exes had 4.3 on a 4.0 scale

seirously though, Dont expect money to just be handed to you.

I try to type legiabally (sp?) i'm not that good with spelling or punctuation, i've been told by alot of teachers that i'm intelligent and such, I can build pretty much anything.

i have problems in english and sciene though.

i was being perfectly humble before he decided to tell me that i was going to be shaking a change can for a living. 3.7 and a 1400 is perfectly adequate to get into the engineering program that i want to go into. as of right now im muuuuch lazier than the 12 people above me, but my work ethic will be changing soon. as for dealing with the people, im pretty sufficient at that, ive been working a customer service desk at a supermarket for about a year, and let me tell you, those saturday shoppers are some disgruntled people.

we've strayed from the point though. does it honestly bother you that i have been typing the way that i am? does it really affect you that much? maybe instead of putting your efforts towards correct spelling and grammar, you should be focusing on more important issues in the world... or if you really want to change things gramatically, become a teacher (the most underpaid group of people).

The college I attended required that all freshmen take a pair of courses titled "rhetoric." These courses were designed to teach students to write clearly, cogently, and grammatically.

Freshmen took Rhetoric 101 during the fall semester and Rhetoric 102 during the spring semester. During the spring semester of their sophomore year, each student was required to pass a rhetoric proficiency exam. Failure to pass the exam resulted in a student's being placed in a remedial course of rhetoric during the fall semester of his junior year. At the end of the fall semester, students enrolled in the remedial rhetoric course were required to re-take the proficiency exam. Failure to pass the exam on this second attempt resulted in a student's being asked to leave the college. No student was allowed to graduate from the college without first having passed the proficiency exam.

I believe approximately 70% of students pass the proficiency exam on their first attempt. Of the remaining 30%, approximately 70% pass on their second attempt.
