That was... absolutely obsurd. Just thought I'd register my dissatisfaction; during a thread on Japanese Lap Pillows, a user (No names..) made a rascist comment.. I 'contradicted' him, after which he became angry and posted asking why I did so; i stated my reasons, while saying "Generalizations make ...holes of both of us; you for saying it, and me for having to correct you". I was given a 3-day, with not a word of displeasure towards bil... the un-named user.

I agree some of the forum rules should be strongly enforced, especially with the recent pouring in of 'newbs'.. but I think context is still important.

I agree, curse words shouldnt always be accepted, but if its in the correct context, a 3-Day seems over the top. As in my case.

You stepped over the rules hence your ban...if you want context then "Japs" whilst to someone who is japanese might be construed as racist...it is in general use and not a flame your post was a flame with cussing...should a complaint be raised as to the use of the word/name "jap" then it will be looked at but until then cuss filter activation and flames will be dealt with as it was in this case...if you recall Cphil's warning said a 7 day or worse.... Also if you look to the last line in your post you can't have it both ways.

welp, with all the dramma latly you'd think we'd at least get a break from Mango's nonesence. None the less, you did violate the rules. unfortunatly there are far worse things on Ao then swearing, but to enforce them there would have to be a line you can draw as with the swearing rule.
