I love how people that are STILL contesting the Al Gore loss in Florida are now saying that the people complaining about Gregoire are partisans. Two things can be said about 2000. 1) that the election was so close it is certainly possible that Al Gore won the state (as I've said here more then once) and 2) that the country simply couldn't afford to not have a President any longer. Would it have been nice to spend 6 months making certain the right result was marked? Sure, but it was impossible. Not to mention all the craziness with the manual recount and "trying to determine the intent of the voter". Once you get into this kind of thing the game is over, whatever result you get is tarnished. There are rules to election, specific ones, because elections are very serious things. Does it suck if your vote doesn't count because you screwed up your ballot? Yes, it sure does, next time be more careful.

Besides, as I've now said about a billion times, I don't care who wins Washington. I know nothing about Washington State politics. In fact I couldn't believe it when I heard the republican won. All I know about Washington is that Seattle is where StarBucks comes from. And since Starbucks is the liberal homeworld I just assumed that no Republican had a chance there. My assumption is that Rossi is a left or middle Republican, but I honestly don't know.

Simple fact is, the election is mired in nonsense. Votes from dead people are STILL BEING COUNTED. There are more then a 1,000 provisional votes that don't seem to belong to any voters in King County. If there isn't fraud then it is blatant incompetance on a level that I really hadn't anticipated.

But like I said, all I want now is a 527 for the next cycle that exposes this nonsense. I think the line "so remember to go out and vote on Tuesday, because as we've seen in the past, if it's close they WILL CHEAT"
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

Rossi is fairly liberal. Northwest Republicans, like my wife, feel cheated by the Republican party. This is because they don't give a damn about things like gays marrying and such. All they want is fiscal responsiblity. A limit on spending and lower taxes. And yet they look at the national republican party and say, "These dudes are fricken crazy. I want separation of church and state. I don't want to spend billiions of dollars and fight a war on false pretenses. Etc, etc, etc." News flash. People in the northwest hate high taxes and government waste as much as the next person. But we don't like a thinly disguised evangelical religious agenda.

So we vote democrat over and over again waiting for that social liberal who is a fiscal conservative.

And Rossi promised to be that guy. So a state that has had a democrat for governor for many many years almost went republican (or did go republican, who knows).

As for your comments on Gore, you totally missed the point. People were labeling him as a bastard just because he was pursuing victory aggressively (in a closely contested election). And don't tell me that you hypocrites on the other side wouldn't have been screaming bloody murder if the situation had been exactly reversed. It is a bunch of BS.

And I forgot to add. Look to California. Yeah the Governator is famous. But he also has a high approval rating because he is kicking butt and taking names on the fiscal front. People are happy to see him attacking that problem. But he doesn't have a conservative social agenda.

This is the WEST COAST we're talking about here. I travel a lot for business and I have to say that there are no more open people than those on the west coast. Getting data is a breeze. No one cares about your personal choices and decisions. Live and let live is the rule here.

But mess with our money, now you've got a problem. We don't like to see wasted money any more than anyone else...
