blink 182 has conformed their sound to all the other pop rock. They are a huge MTV band, that is sell out in its self.

Does being "a huge MTV band" not simply mean you've reached some level of popularity or success? Which, in the next part of your own statement you then disagree with your stance on whether the act of becoming popular does or does not seal your fate as a "sellout." (Hint: it doesn't. It's okay to like music that other people like, too.)

when you change your sound and image and conform to other Pop rock bands to make money, that makes you a sell out. they were punk to start with and were good to start with, they played because they liked music. And they were doing fine, but then they started leting it go to their head.

Are you kidding me? How in the hell can you possibly tell me with a straight face that their newest [self-titled] album is conforming to anygoddamnthing out there that's got some proven success formula? As MAMBYP already stated, I think they did a little growing up. If anything, it's turned people away. Doesn't exactly sound like the move of a sellout to me.

actually, its the record company that markets them. mtv is part of the market, though has huge relationships with major record companys. so the "New thing" is based off of the M.R.C.(major record company), they pay MTV to play that crap. and vice versa for other promotions.

one more thing, dont forget about Clear Channel, there as bad as MTV
