I killed a guy once. The cops got on my case about it, but I just told them I was a diplomat and everything was Okay after that.

Honestly. Find a track where you can race.Originally posted by ej_y4Just be glad you dont live here in LA city. Your car will be taken away even if you watch a street race, let alone block the road where a street race is.
The safety alone is worth the entry fee.

No stupid jerk racers who put the general public at risk and if they hurt themselves or destroy, the public has to pay to clean up the mess.Originally posted by WicKeD_WaYzyeaaa thats what I thought happened. Stupid California and its stupid stupid laws that nobody else has.Comment

I'm never one to put blame where it doesn't belong. I'm a frikin right wing extremist so, yeah!
However, as long as there have been men...there have been races. Running, horses, carriages, OLDOLD cars, and today, fast cars. Racing WILL NEVER EVER END!!
Here in Fremont, there used to be a nice 1/4 ni track that everyone would go to on Sat night. Guess what. They tore it down and bulldozed the track because of the stupid politics of our wonderful state. Now, what do THOUSANDS, literally thousands, of racers in the Bay Area do now? The closest place to race legally is in Sacramento and it isn't very cheap. It's a huge ordeal to go there. My Mustang couldn't even go there. My gears were such that if I was to drive 65 mph all the way, my engine would probably blow. If the government would get their frikin nasty little paws out of our lives maybe we wouldn't have the problems we have now..
Food for thought!!
I gladly accepted my punishment b/c I broke the law. Didn't argue at all.
I just know that the root of this problem doesn't lie within the street racers themselves.
What if they outlawed paitnball except for registered feilds that were 3 hours away.
Tell me...would you continue to go play in some field somewhereComment

Just find a nice track to race at. We have a local 1/4 mile track that has all kinds of races. It has everything from imports to fast 8 sec muscle cars. I believe its only about 15 bucks to race all night.Comment

Well, it's easy to blame "stupid politics" but what were the real reasons?Originally posted by cockerkiller68Here in Fremont, there used to be a nice 1/4 ni track that everyone would go to on Sat night. Has anyone tried to open up a new one?
With some effort and a good site, it should be easy to open a new track as a way to stop outlaw racing. But, finding the site WILL be difficult. While you might not mind the noise of racing. Few neighbours will put up with it....
If your car can't drive at 65 for extended periods, it should undoubtably be declared illegal to drive on public roads.

If you cant hit 65, how do you expect to drag it????
Also it is very hard to find a suitable place for a drag strip. You need a very long piece of land in virtually the middle of nowhere so noise isnt an issue. The drag strip i go to is in the middle of a bunch of farms and is only about a 1/4 wide but about 2 miles long.Comment

Drag racing is about how fast you accelerate, not top speed. Although, the ideal top speed/acceleration combination is a factor of the length of the track.Comment

Gears fool. If i drive my camaro around with 4.10 gears, it would blow up if i kept going 60ish on the highway for an extended period of time. With higher gears (3.73, 4.10, 4.11) the rear end spins really fast so if you keep it like that over a long time its ****ed but if you are drag racing you only go over 120 for less than a second so its not that bad.
Yeah there are some really nice drag tracks around here, but the closest one is an hour south going 80, but its very nice and i'd rather spend 10 bucks to race for hours on end with real cars than go to street races picking my nose waiting for something worthwhile to show up to race.Ender's Violent/Hybrid Alias: 14" Stiffi, Frenzy116, Critical Trigger, VPp Torp HPR, Hybrid LPR w/ VPp, hybrid ARC
