help me win back my best friend

ok well, im a junior in hs and my best friend is a sophomore and friday night we went with 2 girls to a basketball game and on the way home we were talking about going to a pretty big party but my friend doesnt really like to drink and he didnt really get along with some of the people that were going to be at the party but i kinda told him that theyre not that bad and that he didnt have to drink and he really didnt want to go i guess so i said something like "its really annoying how you hate everyone you dont know and i respect the fact that you dont drink but that doesnt mean that everyone else is terrible for doing it" and then he told me to stop the car and i kept driving and he like yelled at me to stop it so i slowed down and he jumped out when i was going like 10mph and then i stopped and told him to get back in the car and he walked off so i called another friend and asked him to come find him so he came and looked for him and i took the girls to the party because i didnt know what else to do and now hes talking a lot of **** and trying to turn all of my other friends against me. i dont really know what i did to him but hes pissed i guess i must have snapped at him. but i was a little high strung because my grampa had died a few hours earlier in canada. and weve been good friends for like 10 years and now because of a stupid argument he hates my guts. so i call upon you AO to please try to help me win my friend back, what should i do?

tl:dr. i snapped at my best friend because he was *****ing about how people that drink are terrible people and how he hates all of the upperclassmen that i just so happen to be friends with and now he hates my guts and is trying to turn all of my friends against me. and i need help because i didnt mean to be an *** to him.

i dont think underage drinking is smart either but its what we do in my small iowa town where the coolest place to hang out is the walmart.

and the girls that were with us said that it was really dumb of him to do so i guess i wasnt that big of an ***? they said that i really didnt do anything wrong
