It might be a good idea to just hit your IT lady with the facts right from in your own company. Employee production is being hampered by inadiquate equipment. Go back over your helpdesk logs, find the facts about what the problems are, who is having them, and how often. Then relate this to lost time and productivity. Translate this figure into $$$$$ the company is loosing. Basically, justify the expendatures you are suguesting. Eventually, this will bite her in the rear-end.
