I know hexis, but it was a feature that was not there before. 17" is standard and 15' is an available upgrade.

I went with the 900mhz g3 iBook (cheap route) and regret it. The new g4 iBooks are better, but I would rather have the powerbook.

Cool kev, I may have talked to you, or will talk to you, if you ever call in for support. =P I dont think I have talked to Duke folks much, and definitely not server support.

neither, the G6 is coming out in one-year 4GHZ system w/ cell processor chips. or you can wait for the G5 PowerBooks, it should be coming out in a couple of months.

As far as making unsubstantiated claims about when Apple will release new laptops/desktops or anything, it's a poor way to choose what to get. Why do you think there are so many rumor sites about what Apple is releasing and when? Because we DON'T know.

Take our current situation. We just had the January MacWorld in SF (where as you all know the mini Mac and iPod shuffle were released). I would have laid EVEN money that Apple would put out a speed bump of their G5 tower line. The last revision was made back in July of 2004, that is over 6 months ago the tower line was (and still is WAY overdue for a speed bump). Did it come out? no....

People were running wild with rumors about an iPod/phone/computer thing that would be released.... no....

So ya, there WILL be a 6th Generation chip that Apple will use but seeing as how the current 5th gen chip is less than 2 years old I highly doubt they are done with it. Heck the G4 chip was used on as Apple's high-end chip on all the desktops from September of '99 all the way until mid 2003. 4 years.End Rant Begin Informative Suggestions
