Wow, they are still cranking it out? 1-2-3 Slam and Just a [****] were some of the old driving music during HS for my friends and I. All I remember is the CD picture was a cartoon guy bending over and the hole in the middle was his bung. Damn, I think that CD was swiped with my Plan9 CD too. Damn the old days. I wonder if any of the good stuff is on iTunes...

Punk is not a band who cant find anything else to write about besides their girlfriends, Punk is not a band who totally changes its sound because their record label told them too, Punk is does not use FREAKIN pianos and violins in their flipping songs.

All and all the word "punk" has been disgraced, spitted, and pissed on. I havent seen or heard a damn band that has ever showed its face on tv in the past 7 years.

The new category for all those scumfuc's on mtv should be labeled...

"Help I have my nuts in a clamping device" category
Scumfuc's?GG Allin fan? I agree completely Punk is a life style and by the way its dead!Punk is being yourself and doing what you want becasue you want to not becasue somone else does!

They are just original doing there own danm thing Rock so good. And you want soem real "punk rock" go pick up any GG Allin cd but then again prolly to hardcore for you and for most!
Somone else said soemthing about Listening to live bands in a little whole in the wall and at rented out VFW's and that my friend is music at its finest! Bands touring in the back of a small *** van playing wherever thye can giving every performance all thye've got while the crowd is exchanging kicks/punches to the face..good stuff!

Few other said check out the Misfits and you should indeed also if you like them get some Danzig and Samhain and if you want something completely out there and strange check out Mr.Bungle. And of course there is always NIRVANA gotta listen to NIRVANA and if you dotn you gotta respect em! Edit:Also check out The Melvins and for slightly diffrent sound Clutch is pretty good.

The bands i listed are not nesacerely "punk" by todays scene kid standards but they are kick *** bands.

When "Thrash Zone" was came out, they released a video for "Beneath the Wheel"--it aired like three times on Headbanger's Ball--very early '90s. DRI was definitely less punk than thrash. Good pit music.

Without doing a Google search, does anyone even know what DRI stands for?
                      (I do! )

And since we're talking punk, why haven't I seen anyone mention:

                      The Dickies
                      D.I.
                      The Damned
                      Circle Jerks
                      The Exploited
                      Agnostic Front

                      ????
                      And you call yourselves "punk"...

Man I dont even wanna get into this thread. I just dont get how you can ask for good bands online. I hate it when people want to listen to a certain kind of music to be in the punk scene or the hardcore scene or the emo scene or the hiphop scene the list goes on and on. Decide what you like, and listen to it. Nobody on here can tell you what to listen to.
