Tigons(sp?) are real to. it depends on the combination of male tiger-female lion or female tiger-male lion to determin what you get.

male tiger-female lion = tigon

female tiger-male lion = liger

I remember being like 5 years old and going to the Utah state zoo and seeing a stuffed Liger. That was the day my parents had to teach me about the birds and the bee's, what an odd way to learn the facts of life... but yea. very old news considering that was like 20 years ago(damn I am getting old)
