Ahhh, but thats the added benefit with 1080p compatibility. In a couple years from now, it'll be more readily available, and that means your 2 or 3 year old PS3 is STILL on the cutting edge.

Sony is thinking ahead. I just can't figure out how the screen would be split for 7. I also have a feeling that the processor is split into seven cores(unless I am gravely mistaken as I did not pay great attenttion to that part of the specs) so that each player has his own core, which would really be very neat.

    X-Box will still be cool.

By the time 1080p large-screen tvs are affordable, the Xbox3 will be hitting the market. Its cool that sony has the support, but it really doesnt mean much.

And Machu, good information. I hadnt realized that the 360 had the better graphics processor.

I want to get my facts straight before I comment on the GPU facts. Machu didn't state the PS3 GPU specs, or at least I didn't notice him posting it. I'm going to go try pull those up if I can find them.

And your comment on 1080p is based on what? Notice this sudden puch on HD and HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. I think we won't have to wait TOOO long for the TVs. And even if X-Box 3 comes out by that time, PS4 will come out too. And if you don't feel like buying either of those systems, PS3 will let you stay rather modern with 1080p support. Its not like X-Box 3 will be the end all, be all of systems.

Edit: Once and for all, a comparison of specs between the two systems at these links:
          Here
          and
          here.

Edit 2: Read both, and found both rather lacking. I guess it may be too early to try to determine a better system, as it seems people are confused.... at least I am.

I am really disappointed in the revolution, it really isn't revolutionary from what I can see. Gamecube was much under par compared to ps2 and xbox, and it looks like it will be happening again. The only good thing I like on the revolution is the 512mb flash memory for cards. This is something ps3 should DEFINITELY do. Cheaper then a hard-drive and for an average person, that is plenty big. If you need more, just buy a card.

Yeah the revolution doesn't seem to have much on what MS or Sony has to offer, I'm hoping they have something fantastic up their sleeve, and even if not, they still have probably the best set of franchises for gaming around, Zelda, metroid, mario, pokemon, resident evil which, combined with their online service, which will most probably include the DS could prove something fantastic, also notice they havn't shown any pictures of the controllers. I've heard one rumor that it will just be a DS style touchpad with no, or minimal buttons, or possibly even the new, non-DS handheld that has been passed around. Either way I'll probably end up owning once because my Gamecube has turned me into Nintendo fanboy.

Also I am a little disapointed at Sony, they have released a couple of videos, the only one I've seen was the killzone 2 one, which was AMAZING to watch, but rather obviously not rendered in realtime on any currently existing hardware.

Do you understand the different HD formats? Right now the only 1080P displays are LCD TVs, and they are prohibitively expensive for now. And when did I saw Xbox 3 would be the end-all? I mean, did you even read what I wrote?

If people can say that the Gamecube failed, then so did the Xbox. Look at the big picture. Sony simply dominated with the PS2. The Gamecube and Xbox are pitiful in market share in comparison to the PS2.

It's too early to get a real idea of the next-gen consoles. MS was a bit tight-lipped at their pre-E3 press conference about which game clips were in-game and which were FMV. Sexy FMV/clips though. Sony had some great ones as well.

There were some complaints said on G4/Tech TV about Nintendo not showing their controller. I have to say that it should be expected from Nintendo. D-pads, rumble packs, analog sticks, analog buttons with digital clicks, and wireless controllers were all done first by Nintendo and then implemented later by competitors. Good move by Nintendo to keep things under wraps. I thought the PS3 controller looked like a crappy PC gamepad. All PC gamepads are ugly.

I can't wait to get one of the PS3 or Xbox 360 USB controllers to use on my PC.

                      On a final note...

He's talking about processor design, he's saying maybe one 3.2 ghz sony processor will have the same processing power as 3 3.2 ghz xbox processors.

Probable? No. Not at all really.

Nintendo has yet to show anything for the Revolution besides a fancy black box. They are going to have a free game service for first party games. Still too early to say that they don't have much on MS or Sony.

Nintendo bought a company in the last few years which owns patents on gyroscope technology. I put my money on that. Not some bastard tilt sensor, but actual sensing of the controller's yaw/pitch/roll.

AMD's just overclock better. If something is running at 2.2 then its running at 2.2

Maby its jsut me but i prolly wont be trying to overclock my console..

Power isn't everything. PS2's graphical power was not that great, but it had the largest market share.

BTW, there is no way that Bill Gates can have 1 billion Xbox 360 consumers.
