Me being a braves fan i think that is really cheap, estrada was out of the base path. The guy didnt even go for the plate he straight out tackled estrada. Hitting the catcher is ok if he is in your way but going out of your way to level him is cheap as hell.

Kinda like trying to take out the 2nd basemen when he is turning a double play. IDK that is just my oppinion/
See, I see it from a different side. Being a Angels fan I thought it was clean (of course right). Anyways... the only thing remotely cheap was the head shot, which only happened because Estrada was crouched ready for the collision. It was clear to me that Erstad knew he would have to do something "big" to be safe. Overall though it was going to be a close call and if he hadn't plowed the catcher, no question he would have been out... even if he tried the "hook" maneuver.

Definately a solid hit though and the crowd's reaction at the first sign of impact was priceless.
    Sorry, I'm old

Good clean hit. When i was in high school one of our RBs blayed base ball, during a game the catcher tried the same thing but was stradling the baseline, he put his shoulder down and hit him like a tackling dummy. He musthave carried bhim 5 feet before the catcher and the ball went separate ways. The other team cried foul but the refs said he was blocking the baseline so he had it coming
