How old are you... Most people get/find jobs before they get out of school...

its hard to find a job when u are under 15 but i think u can get a job at like a krogers or someting like that. I worked at a coldstone last summer wasnt horrible, maybe u could try applying at a place like that.

          Cut grass

This is seriously a huge money maker and depending on how many yards you get, you can spend just a few hours each morning and then have the rest of the day to have fun. I don't know what the going rate for grass cutting is these days, but I would make $10-$50 a yard, I had on average 10 yards that I cut per week.

Good if you can pull it off... There are too many "professional" lawn mowing/landscaping companies where I live. People hire them to come out, and about 4 guys hop out of a truck and cut your grass within 5 minutes.

^^^ Listen to this guy... Its a good idea. At your age, doing something independant is always good. Also, if you can't find work for a summer or something later on, you can always do it later. I ran a lawn mowing and snow removal "company" and a computer building "company" basically 2 guys, one of them my brother bought equipment and mowed lawns in the summer, blew leaves in the fall and cleared driveways in the winter. We had 1 mower, 1 weed wacker thingy, one leaf blower, and one snow plow. We made a killing taking care of 12 houses in our area. It also kept us busy and made us get up early and get use to people expecting results from your work. And then the computers... I built something on the order of 120 computers in high school. Anything from a simple internet/word/e-mail machine to a killer gaming system, I'd build it exactly the way you want it and could even do my own case modding (I have a workshop and am handy with a jigsaw and dremel). Depending on the computer I made somewhere between $50 and $250 a box. Not bad for a high school student.

Something to keep in mind. You will learn a lot working anywhere. Even at McDonalds, you can learn a bunch. You just gotta be looking to get better and do things right. If all you are doing is counting the hours/money, you won't get nearly as much out of whatever job you are doing. Hell, one of my friends started working at McDonalds in Sophmore year in HS, made 7.25/hr and worked only at night. By the summer after HS he was running the whole place and was making his own modifications to make his McDonalds more efficient. He wouldn't tell me how much he was making, but it was in excess of 15k for the summer alone, working at McDonalds! Be useful, be helpful and it will make life much easier down the road.

Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.

Since I work at mcdonalds, I say it's very good to get a promotion to "crew trainer" level at mcdonalds. If you work to make things better instead of working for the money, you'll get the raise and it will look very good on your resume later down the road.I've been working since I was 13(with my dad) and I'm 16 now. I can ball everyweek if I wanted to, am building a computer, and have some cash saved up for a car. Getting a job is the best thing you could do and props to you for doing so.

About cutting grass, I made my money cutting grass by talking to a family friend who was a real-estate agent. She got me in touch with people that had moved and they paid me to cut their grass.
