I actually managed to cough the water I was drinking AND the gum I was chewing up through my nose while reading your blade/techno theory. Not a pleasant experience.

When I want to watch Star Wars, I dust off my THX laser discs. I don't know what edits they have, but I know they don't have the sissified Solo, the Hayden vader swap, the genesis-wave death star explosion, and the animal add-ins at Mos Eisley.

I don't know if I will EVER watch ep 3 again. I still whip out Ep 1 for the pod race scene (good for testing the surround system). Haven't watched Ep 2 since I bought it.

Laser Discs are the way to go. They still have Han shooting first, much less new stuff on Tattoine, did re-do the final space battle (squads of X-wings coming in).

I've realized that I prefer Ep I to II.

      Just. Jar-Jar. But....
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

As bad as Jar Jar was, I think the alien short-order cook/exotic weapons specialist with the highly-visible butt crack (Look daddy, you can see that fat monster's butt!) was much more vile. And Ep 2 had Nute Gunray squeeling in almost ograsmic pleasure when Amidala was about to get munched by the cliche monsters in the ampitheater. That was just wrong.

I loved Episode 3. I had been craving to see it since I heard it was coming out this year. It really tied everythign in togethor. Special effects were great, and I loved just seeing how 4-6 all came about.

I just wish they showed more of obi-wan dropping luke off and living on tatooine. That, and they needed to show Yoda landing on his planet (Forget what its called.. The swamp place, think it begins with an e). Even if he just landed, looked around then crutched away into the swamp, it would've been nice.

I think people are mostly mad that the newest movies somehow tarnish the old ones. Well I guess they do. Georgey had to edit things in 4-6 to make it fit with 1-3. Why didn't he edit 1-3 to fit with 4-6. That kinda pisses me off. The vader swap, extra animals, and better special effects were okay. But, changing R2 was something that pissed me off. He never flies in 4-6. He gets spit out by the damn monster in the swamp. Why georgy why. Did you have to cut that out. I loved that part. There was no reason to have R2 jump out of the ship in ep3. NO REASON!!!!!!!

I hope someone does a re-edit and posts it on-line. Anyone who hates EP1 should download the Phanton Re-edit (west coast edition). Whoever did it took 20 minutes out and made it into a much better film, which just goes to show what someone with *talent* can do even with a finished film ... I would have loved to see what that same person could have done with raw footage.

Anyways yeah, I'm still wicked depressed by how bad that movie was. It was so anti-climactic. Me and my friend Chris had planned on throwing a two day Star Wars party before we even saw EP1 and we did it. About 20 of us got together and watched the first two, went to the midnight showing, took a nap and then watched the last 3. DAMN YOU LUCAS!!!

PS You know, the cartoons are awesome. Since they're only cartoons the animators must have been able to sneek thier creativity and talent under Lucas' radar.

i still think its b/s how luke got the crap life. "well hey, lets send the boy to live a life of hard work on a freakin desert planet... meanwhile, we can send leia to live happily as a damn princess where she wont have to work or anything." but ep. 3 didnt bring that thought to me, that thought was always in my head since the origional trilogy.

as for Yoda... the planet is Dagobah. so it doesnt begin with an "e"
yeah im a loser, i know.
but yes, at least seeing yoda arriving onto that planet would have been very nice to see.

I think that all of the newer episodes were missing one thing

                      A character like Han Solo.
