            exactly. if you can get a replacement plan on it (and if you bought it from a local store say best buy or something you typically have 30-90 days to do so).

            if you bought it over the net or through the mail (say something like dell) call them and tell them it came that way

                Well lots of people will (and have) call me a fool, but I prefer not to get into the ethical dilemma that would create, not to mention the Karmic return on such a lie. I am not trying to say I am a saint, but I just don't need this coming back on me. I believe firmly that all actions have a reaction. If I do right by this and be honest then somewhere down the line something good will come back on me.

                I was able to get them to sell me the replacement screen for half of retail. That was still over half of the original cost of the laptop. I did learn a valuable lesson. I will no longer be placing it on the floor.
