The girl that I am likely to go with thought the Semi idea was awesome. I refuse to just do a limo or stretch hummer, I'll figure something out.

Dude im a Truck mehcanic (funny enough currently working for a truck rental company) RYDER(not for too mutch longer i imagin though).
Answer to the question is yes their obviously companys that rent trucks BUT. You aint just gona hop in a truck and be able to drive it (you need to be 25 were i work). It aint like a car and requiers ALOT of skill. Shifting alone is something that takes some time to master its NOTHING like a car an requiers depressing the clutch (not ALL THE WAY or you can blow the the clutch brake) shifting outa gear then releasing the clutch taping the throttel to match the rpms then depresing the clutch again and shifting into the next gear. Add to that the range shift control and the spliter switch on some and you have a pretty tricky combo. Now most drivers includeing myself find it easier to drive without the clutch using it only for starting and stoping but trust me thats a skill that will take many hrs to master. Trucks in general like what your looking at run 10-18 speed transmishions and 400-600hp BUT 1800-2600LBS/TQ Get too ruff on the trottel and you end up with a possible case of a sore neck and an expensive inshurance bill when you rear end the car infront (the seat is on an air spring so when you hit the pedal in too low a gear with no load the truck lurches forward your seat rasies and then the seat lowers back to a relax and in turn your probly gona press harder on the go pedal agian VERY VISHIOUSE circle and cn offer a very sore neck LOL.
I STRONGLY discurage this idea. I understand the dissire to be differant and all but a truck is FAR more than most teens can handel and MUTCH harder to drive than i expect you to relize. That all being said inmy experiance although fun and well intresting highschool was VERY unimportant and wasting soo mutch time/money and effrt on sutch a small (well large in fisical size) thing is kinda well stupid.
Oh and P.S. the interior of ANY USED truck (rented or otherwise) is likely to be on the filthy side and rather disscusting to most of our lady friends.AGD 68 Automag, Azodin KP2, Sheridan PGP2, Tippmann Pro/Carbine, Crossover XVR, SL-68II, and TiPX.Comment

I'm going to disagree I was in a Kenworth rollback the other day and you could mistake the interior for a mercedes. Some of the smaller trucks are available in automatic now too I know a local escivation company started buying automatic trucks. Towns around here use automatics whenever possible to because every once in a while you'll have some idiot who will intentionally blow a tranny so they can sit around waiting for a tow instead of working.Originally posted by Bear_ClawOh and P.S. the interior of ANY USED truck (rented or otherwise) is likely to be on the filthy side and rather disscusting to most of our lady friends.
The rest of your argument remains valid though. Expensive and you're going to have to be 25.

actually I think you would be better off with a truck then an engine. It has a ladder you can ride up and down in.
there is a difference between an fire engine and truck if you didnt know
Engine

Truck

Umm, what the hell kind of trucking companies do these guys work for? 99% of your truckers get paid by the load. If they are sitting on the side of the road, they are not getting paid.

Just rember to fill the tank BEFORE loading the 55-gallon drums of Ammonium Nitrate into the back, okay?
