I would just like to point something out to everyone.... When you are talking horsepower numbers this high, fuel consumption is a pretty weak bargaining point.

Same with cars that cost $1m. If you can afford to drop that much on a car you'll drive several times a year, you can still probably pay for gas.

um, no its not. 1000 hp car is no good if you cant make a set of laps without refueling. Its the way that the horsepower is made that determines this any ways. Volumetric efficiency etc... turbo vs N/A

Nissan Skyline has 6 coffee cans and is capable of 1000 all wheel drive horsepower... and cheaper not to mention capable of a whole lot better fuel consumption.

way way off. a new r34 costs at LEAST $90k in stock form. Add the twin turbos and needed engine, exhaust, electro upgrades for another $20-30k, another 10k for better suspension and transmission to handle the power and you have easily broken the $100k mark. I do like skylines, but they cost too much to import. FOr that price you can get an upgraded viper or vette that would stomp it into the ground. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Ah I saw this car a few years ago....right after the Cadillac 16. I'm really not a supercar guy, which is good because I'll never be able to afford one.

Oh and the skyline does not come with 1000 hp stock, you have to do tons of mods to get it that high. This car is engineered to do 1000 hp from the second it is off the assembly line. Plus I'm sure it has other nice stuff inside that a skyline won't have.

Who said any thing about a 100k mark? That car is over a million, not 100k. By your estimates you are pushin 150k which is a small fraction of the vw thing. (pun intended).

But thats right, it floats my boat and I miss my vr 4 every second im alive.

for the record, the merc mclaren owns all. it is a super car, 650 BHP is nothing to laugh at, its rediculously fast, and it stops on a dime. handles beautifully, and if you want to pick a chick up in it, you can, and not be embarassed by some recaro seats and a 5pt harness that she wont know how to put on. not to mention THAT NOISE god does it sound beautiful.

how do you argue fuel comsumption at 1000hp?

your building a race car not a friggin fuel saver.
skylines are expensive, espically in the united states, try finding parts for one.
besides how well would that transfer case hold up to 1000hp?

The M5 can't hang with a Z06. It's far too heavy.. It's very sluggish.

I only said it had been done before, and I didnt give an engineered blueprint on how to do it. Meaning, Im not an engineer so if you wanna take further find somone else to argue with.
