xbox 360 or PS3?

xbox is going to be 299 for the basic with a wired controller NO harddrive

399 for the xbox with one month tril of xbox live gold. wireless controller and the 20 gig harddrive

We all know that cheaper one isn't a real x-box. I though part of what they wanted to hold over the other guys was the hard drive? And wired controlers?! Just get a used x-box for less than that, not like your going to have a small range of games that you might possibly like... oh... wait....

just wait until they both are out at the same time. even now with the ps2 and xbox ppl are still debating on which is better. its all about preference i guess. i personally dont like the xbox, at all. the only games i would get for it would be halo and knights of the old republic... which are both on computer.

i just got a game informer in the mail with some pictures of the game and looks preaty good.

really i think the xbox and ps2 are basiclly the same other the ps2 loading is a little slower and i think the graphics on the xbox are a little bit better.

dont really care about the harddrive other then not haveing to worrie about buying a memory card and running out of space to save games.

Had mine since the morning they were released in the US and haven't had a problem yet. Halo, Halo 2, and just to piss of Sony Halo 3 on the PS3 launch day. That makes me giggle inside. Now that MS has pretty much the best FPS's there is no other reason to get a PSBoomerang. RARE, MS has RARE. Can't get much better then that. Oh wait yes you can. FF XI!?!?! In conclusion, MS has my money, and will have my money for years to come.

its really really nice other than its only a 128 meg video card and dosent really play battlefeild 2 good


plays half life 2 great on high but with a little bit of lag


it could be better though. i was going to upgrade the video card later on but i found out that theres no card its intergrated into the mother board. soo the chip set is tight into the motherboard and i cant get new one i guess unless i up the motherboard and i dont think i can do that.

its a SUPPER laptop but just cant play games like doom 3 and battle feild 2 on it

PS3 will undoubtly be better for the fact that it is using BluRay, while Xbox 360 will be supporting HD-DVD. If I recall, Sony distributes a huge amount of movies, which are all going to be BluRay. Have fun buying a Xbox 360 and BluRay player, because I highly doubt many companies are going to print in HD-DVD.

On the gaming lineup. Well its hard to say right now. PS3's graphics are easily passing anything the Xbox is putting out (MGS4 anyone?), but maybe Halo 3 can compete, I, nor any of you, know that, since none of you even really know the exact release date of Halo 3. Halo 3 is a great game, but honestly, I see as its the only thing going for Xbox at the moment. There are no real amazing launch titles for the 360, nor are there any really lined up that tickle my fancy. FFXI? Wow I've only been playing that on the PLAYSTATION 2 for the past 6 months. The game is NOT all its cracked up to be, and it WILL be another gimmick like Phantasy Star Online was for the Dreamcast.

Whats this talk about RARE? Wow, the last good game they made was Donkey Kong 2, which was for... Super Nintendo? Oh wait, they do have Conker, but again, this makes what. A total of 2 games for Xbox? Oh wait no, they have "CliffyB"'s Gears of War. 3

The PS3 is looking to be an amazing machine. The power its pushing is amazing. The graphics, before gameplay, will easily blow away any person watching it. MGS4's real-time demo was amazing. I couldnt believe the graphics that machine is putting out. PS3 has ALL of the major 3rd party developers on their side, no doubt about it. With the power of the 3rd party on their side, and the platformer games they are putting out? I seriously doubt Sony will have to worry at all about the PS3. The only gripe I have about PS3 is I hope they have a good way to monitor online play. Many games, online, such as Socom, usually went unwatched for the most part and it was extremely easy to cheat. I know this is the same in other games such as Halo. But it seems like Microsoft might defenitely have an advantage on the online world.

Im actually excited about playing games on the Revolution myself. At first glance, the controller looks really horrible, and as if no 3rd party company would want to develop games for it. But there was tons of talk on the showroom floor at TGS, from 3rd party developers who were extremely excited about the controller and its capabilities. Nintendo is defenitely taking a chance with this one, but their system will cost 1/2 the price the other two cost, and have some of the most innovative games probably to date. I am excited because Nintendo is actually taking a chance with their innovation, and I really hope they pull it off.

If I recall my basic science correctly, "BluRay" means that the DVD player uses a blue laser instead of a red laser. The amount of information stored on a DVD is limited by how many 1's and 0's you can put on it. That, in turn, is limited by the wavelength of the laser. The actual physical 1's and 0's cannot be smaller than a single wavelength. Blue has a wavelength that is 1/5th the width of red, so automatically you can store 5 times more information. Does that make sense?

You're forgetting many good Rareware games between DKC2 & the Conker series. Goldeneye, PD, Jet force Gemini, starfox, diddy kong racing, BK, blast corps. Rare was bought for the 360 (for $375 million). PD sounds tits and Kameo:EoP has been keeping platforming down well. Furthermore, when have you seen a playable PS3 game?, a disc touting blue-ray and good pricing?

The industry goes for the lower standard when making 3rd party games. So even if the PS3 has a slight edge in graphics, it wont matter outside of Sony productions. The PS3 is focusing more on multimedia outside of games anyway.

There are plenty of sleepers in the 360's launch window. Condemned, Full auto, the Outfit, ninety-nine nights, and King Kong.

If you game at all you have to get the 360 just for the sole fact that it comes out a year earlier. If you call yourself a gamer and say "Nah, I'll just wait on PS3" you should feel disgraced.

Half of the stuff everyone is calling "gameplay" for the PS3 is a bunch of screenshots and cut scenes. I don't think its fair to compare the two.

Regardless of it all, PS3 will be supreme, purely because it is being launched a year later. A year more development, and another year to implement technology.

All I know, is that I would go absolutely insane without a console for a year. And trust me, Oblivion is going to blow peoples minds.

HD-DVDs are cheaper to produce. Period. If this were and ideal world and companies chose which prodcucts to market based on which was better we would all be using bluray, but since companies are cheap and want to make the most money HD-DVD will take over. just my uneducated opinion. I can't remember what other company (other than microsoft) just endorsed hd-dvd, but its a big one. it was in the Times the other day.
