xbox 360 or PS3?

Also I loved a game by RARE its called PerfectDark it wass for the N64 my favorite game ever hands down. 360 will have a new game called PerfectDarkZero so....thats whats good about Rare

also i plan on buying a PS3 even though it probably doesnt seem like it lol. Moslty cause I hate MS and also ppl always talk about how the xbox is better than the ps2 and well it is but look at the launch dates xbox came a while after ps2 with and was a better system cause technology had changed
but this time PS3 is coming AFTER 360 and i feel it will blow away the 360 and show the real potential of sony
although i must admit i am impressed with xbox live and halo2 damn good combination there
so i really hope ps3 has some sort of live service, possibly free thatd be sweet
and so all in all im buying a ps3 and will just have to hope that i can play PDzero at a friends house all the time and ughhh

Blu rays are not more expensive to produce than HDdvds. The issue is that the HDdvds can be produced on current equipment with only minor tooling changes. Whereas the bluray requires different stuff. Regardless, the cost of the actual disc has always been and will always be trivial compared to the cost of the game.

Bluray is the superior format, it simply holds more.

I have absolutely no desire for the xbox, I have a gaming PC already. MGS4 will probably force me to buy a PS3 eventually.

Another thing people forget, is the game library for the PS3 will me a towering monster over the xbox. Because it is backward compatible with games from all the way back in '97. I know most of the casual gamers out there don't want anything to do with such games but there are many timeless classics from the Ps1 and Ps2 days that will effectivly be 'launch titles'. AND they are cheap.

I will be playing Final Fantasy Tactics forever.

As far as Blu-ray, its nice that Sony is including a high-capacity format, but I wish there had been an industry-wide agreement on that format. Sony is known for pushing their own format despite what the rest of the industry does, like they did with Super Audio CDs, and look what Sony did when that line didn't succeed (RIP SACD).

MS is one of the most successful corporations in the US, and we should be proud of their performance. A perfect way to show what is wrong in the US is to look at how MS is treated. If MS were a European company, they would be doing EVERYTHING they could to shield and assist the company. Instead, our government is doing everything it can to crap on MS. The EU, seeing how the US treats MS, was only too happy to jump on the bandwagon and fine the crap out of MS for IDIOTIC reasons. I mean, MS was wrong to include stuff for free in Windows, excuse me?

Back to the 360 vs. PS3. We will REALLY have to wait to see how they perform graphics-wise, but since online gaming is the only thing I do with the consoles, MS, due to their proven track record, is #1 in my book.

Sony gets kudos for the wireless connectivity built in, however. MS made a boo-boo there.

will the 360 be backwards compatable with xbox games. my computer is being a nazi and wont let me play games... ie. KOTOR 1 & 2, doom 3, halo, star wars: republic commando.
and all of those are on xbox, so should i just wait to get the 360, or just buy an xbox

The full blown 360 will be backwards compatible with lots of nifty features


however, the cheaper poormans 360 will not be and will have less features than the more expensive 360.

It's not fully BC, only top selling xbox games will be ported to the Xbox 360. And if you get the core system (the cheaper one) and you get a harddrive then you can play old xbox games. But it is still going to be only top selling xbox games.

I'm annoyed that MS decided to make the HDD optional, because that means developers don't have to utilise it, and if they don't have to, they probably won't. Meaning that we're gonna lose a lot to loading times, and savegames and other neat features that developers won't bother to include because only a fraction will be able to use it.

+1. I am only buying an xbox 2 if it has halo 3 on it. I am buying a ps3 either way because I hate M$, and playstation3 is more original than xbox 2.
