    My personal nightmare

I've made friends with many people here. Some I have met personally, others I have only dealt with on here. Many are friends. I wanted to share my recent personal nightmare with you. Sometimes communication is therapeutic.

Yesterday my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is stage II, and at least the survival rate is 88%. She is only 42. She will have to stop breast-feeding our daughter once chemo starts. At least our daughter is 16 months old and gets most all of her nutrition from "table" food. Telling the boys (9 and 12) is going to be the hardest thing we have ever done.

    Wish us luck.

P.S. To anyone wanting to reply here but not knowing what to say, don't worry about what you say. Just say whatever comes to mind. Don't worry that it sounds like what everyone says, doesn't seem adequate, etc. Remember, it truly is the thought that counts.

    hitech,

My prayers are with you and your family.

My family has been through some similar situations and none were easy.
Knowing people are out there that care was probably the best medicine that anyone could ask for.

If there's anything I can do don't hesitate to ask.

    Jeff

Wow... this sucks. I can't believe how many people in the last couple years that I know have been affected by this evil. My thoughts will be with you, your wife and family. Take care.

I wish you and your family all the best. Don't hesitate about telling the boys kids are a lot more resiliant then we ever give them credit for. Positive thought is as powerful as modern medicine. May your family's journey be as painless as poosible.

            Oh man

My heart honestly held a beat and a half before I clicked on this thread.

At a loss for the right words.

Having and keeping a positive attitude is the best advice I would give. Its going to be real important for your wife to know that you and the kids are "taking it OK". You're taking it as a family, including her.

I'm rambling. Let me know when we get something going.

AO CA will get something together.

            Good Luck.

I am very sorry to hear this. I work for a company that does radiation treatment plans. The company is growing like crazy which is sad because we grow because of the number of cancer cases grow.

If there is anything I can do or if you have any questions I can put you in contact with some of the best cancer folks in the country.
