im sure most of the people who are the most harsh critics have never tried it. for me, it is extremely relaxing, and i would have bad anger problems if i didnt have pot to calm down with. i understand not all people who try it will like pot, i know plenty of people who hate alcohol.

Last year I had a discussion with a kid at my school who sells a lot of pot. He's not your average little rich white kid selling a dimebag to friends, he sells it by the ounces and is tied to many gangs. He explained that the legalization of pot could be a very bad thing. If they government can control it, they set the prices, the taxes and changes are only the worst shwag could be legally purchased.
Does anyone know exactly how Amsterdam works? I have friends that came from the Netherlands but were only 10-12 when they moved and didn't know how all of that worked legally.
Our country isn't ready for it. We have too many idiots.

Also just because your friend sells weed doesn't mean he knows everything, it wouldn't neccessarily be a BAD thing if the govt. legalized it. It would be another substance that people would whine about and try to blame every bad thing in the world on. Amsterdam has zones in the city town squares and parks mostly where u can smoke and buy the best bud in the world.
Personaly im really thinkin about moving to denver now but prob wont cuz its too cold there i have a feelin we are goin to see a lot more cities doing this in the next 10 years. Somewhere along the line they are goin to piss the federal government off enough to start the second civil war and to be honest I can't wait.

Look at the alcohol industry. Moonshining isn't all that common unless you truley live in the mountains. The government couldn't COMPLETELY control it but they would cops would still be out there arresting people who do not have a permit/license to sell. The state of North Carolina is a good example of the government controlling alcohol. Beer, wine, and other low proof alcoholic drinks can be purchased at stores but you must wait until noon on Sundays. Liquor is sold at state run ABC stores. If you are throwing a large party and attempting to buy a large amount of alcohol you may be required to get a permit.Originally posted by Archangel Kid
Using prohibition as an analogy is completely wrong. When alcohol was illegal they couldn't control it. Weed is the same way now. Now that alcohol is legal, it is not widely made illegally.
I know the whole "a friend told me" thing sounds corny but this kid is smart. He can make hundreds of dollars a week just by selling weed. He understands what would happen if it was legalized and offered at the same price as him. If he'll sell me an ounce of dank for $100 and I can get it for $110 from a licensed shop, I'll get it the legal way just to be safe. If everything becomes low quality then it could help him. People out looking for a better high might go to him but he feels drug enforcement would be more serious and laws against selling would be harsh.
As far as deaths related to weed, I can't see anyone dying from an actual overdose of just weed. But if you and your friends are on the way to a party and your passing a bowl around and suddenly the driver goes off the road, then someone could die because everyone was too busy getting high to worry about being respectful to the driver.Comment
