I think the whole thing with the Xbox 360 is redicilous. They are going for a thousand bucks on ebay... one freaking thousand dollars. That's insane. I'm waiting until all this hype dies down to buy one, or to even care for that matter. Anyone else waiting or are you in a mad rush to get it?

first off, i think this is an almost pointless thread (no offense), because it seems that all anyone cares aobut right now is the 360.
ALirght now that that is over...I was really excited when the 360 came out, but considering that my friend down the street has one i am not worrying about getting one for a few months. That way it will be cheaper and in stock.Comment

then again, a decent gaming computer costs the same or even more, plus doesnt have the games that will be on xbox (or there will be a longer wait).Originally posted by wad04theres really not point in the xbox 360, seeing as though a decent gaming computer is JUST as good if not better then it. it's pointless.Comment

Cap'n speaks the truth. Computers cost much more money than anyone anticipates before they buy one. Those Dell guys just talk you into so much more on the phone. Hundreds of dollars multiply onto your bill before you know it. Well anyways, thats what happneded to me, $1700 computer. But...well worth it.rt ule custom, boomstick, ult,apoc2k and x board revi, i want:j&j ceramic.Comment

yep.Originally posted by CaptaiN_JacKa gaming comp that can match the specs of the 360 would be well over 1500...
Which is why Microsoft didn't really make much of a profit with the original Xbox, since they were basically giving away a computer for $300.
They relied on games and franchises for income if i remember correctlyComment

Bill Gates is loosing money selling the consoles at the price they are, but on the other hand he is making a load on games and accessories. And compared to a computer, the 360 has three 3.2ghz processors. I'm not big on computers, but I know thats a lot of power. Oh and to everyone who keeps calling your local Best Buy to see if they have anymore 360's...... STOP CALLING until about December. I work at the local Best Buy and almost every other phone call is someone asking if we have any more in.Comment

Anybody see the link on bluesnews.com ? somone bought one for 10 grand! now that's just stupidity! I had a coworker stand in line overnight, someone had offered him 300 bux to take his place in line. Of course, he was one of the guys that had to have it and declined the offer.
Unfortunately, as with any new release, there are news of 360s overheating or crashing. As much as I love games, I'm not dumb enough to pay such a hefty price. I can wait. Besides, there's just nothing right now that I am dying to play on it.
All I know is, when the PS3 comes out, I'll be standing in line regardless of whether I'm buying it or not. At least I know the frenzy will create a demand for my spot in line! Hehe!

i just got a new computer, $800 for the computer, 17" flat panel monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc... at the most it could use more ram or a new video card, but that would be ~$200 for something decent.Comment
