Philosophy Topics, any idea's?

So have you gotten any ideas what to do your paper on after all this? You could have fun with the answer to it all is 42 thing......Your idea that philosophers are wasting their time could be fun as well-you just might not get a great grade on the project. But some times you just have to say what the ****.

I didn't think you where anti-morality or charity or anything like that. I just like playing the devils advocate as it were and the debate this kind of topic creates. A idea unchallenged and undebated is worthless.

But I have found the meaning of life no matter what you say......PAINTBALL!

who is to say the meaning of life has been found, and dismissed?

what if the meaning of life was to create TV and sit in front of it all day and rot your brain?

maybe the meaning of life was to 'evolve' for millions of years, or whatever, and create this society just so the aliens who planted us here can take over and have some cool cars to drive around in a blown up world?

maybe the meaning of life was to create Peter Griffin, one of the greatest characters to ever live.

why study philosophy? what good can that do?

does asking questions that may never be answered actually serve a purpose?

what is the purpose of philosophy other than to give a burnt out former/possibly current drug user a steady paycheck at the local community college? (sigh, good ole Larry, yes, he did admit to drug use or 'experimentation or possibly more. he often referred to pink elephants walking into class.. but thats another story.)

maybe there is a philosophical question to why there is money? is money really necessary? why cant we all be commies and do away with govt currency and stuff? Without money, would the world need money? Or does money create its own purpose? An off shoot, why do humans require "stuff" where as animals get by just by living? what is it that makes us want more? computers, cars, tvs, thermal nuclear warheads, to search for life elsewhere? without stuff, people wouldnt know they want stuff, or would they just dream up stuff and decide they want it?

why is 2 + 2 = 4? why not 5? why are numbers absolute? why are morals relative?

why do people ask questions about life? is that the meaning of life, to seek something greater than what you have? is that seeking for the meaning of life been diluted by all the other "stuff" we have? instead of seeking a new computer, car, video game, should we be seeking why we are here? who/what put us here? Are humans programmed to be seeking a higher power, but instead looking for materialistic things to fill a void?

Are philosophers on crack, or are they truly seeking enlightenment? are the two intertwined? is the human mind brainwashed to think a certain way, but to seek true enlightenment you need to break free of societies shackles on your mind.

how about the philosophical reason for war? why cant people just talk things out? are we programmed to hate each other? why cant I just walk up to someone and say "lets be friends" without them pulling out a 9mm and showing me why we cant?



rambling for the win, if it doesnt make sense, its ok, its almost 3 am and its not supposed to. then again, this junk probably isnt very philosophical as much as it is a bunch o crap.

yes. theyre rhetorical questions, meant to stimulate thought. sometimes you arent supposed to ans... crap i wasnt supposed to answer that, was i?

ehh, that seems like more of a logical question to me.

because math is nice and straightforward, almost everything is definite and can be proven. unlike philosophy or language. which is why i like math and science.

thats one of the few things i liked about plato. societies are beneficial, and a good society will work well and thus expand. expanding societies create conflict. conflict creates war. war and disagreements are due to conflict of interest.
