AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
13 rounds in .45 in a gun this size? Havent read through this thread, or read up on the gun, but my guess would be a double stacked mag. Double stack = thick grip. I've also owned a g26, great gun, just too thick for comfortable IWB with a tucked in dress shirt.
Dude, of course it's going to be double stack. 13 rounds of .45ACP single-stacked would be a magazine about 7 inches tall. Most full size handguns are about 6 inches tall. Since the magazine isn't sticking out from the bottom of that XD, it'd be safe to say it's a double stack mag.
There's numerous double stack mag guns on the market and numerous people that carry them as concealed weapons.
definately wouldnt be a carry pistol. With that many rounds in the mag, its bound to have a very thick grip (which, while being very comfortable and easy to shoot, is a pain in the *** to carry IWB)
I carry a Berreta 96D. It's not the easiest to conceal, but it's not that hard, either.

Doesn't NJ restrict you to 10 round magazines? My buddy lives there and I believe he mentioned that.
You probably don't want to know that I made them cut me 30% on the accessories I bought at the same time (third clip, Bianchi leather holster, four boxes of Federal Hydrashocks)
I'm rather impressed by the .357SIG rounds performance. In cold weather I want a round that I know is going to penetrate heavy clothing, and they have enough of that. I was surprised by how accurate the P229 is, it far surpasses my Glock in my hand, and I can put double taps into my target at 30 feet without any question. I like this gun, more than I would have thought...

I'm about ready to buy a P226 but can't decide between .40 SW and .357 Sig. Do you reload by chance? My only question is reloading the bottleneck .357 Sig and the fact that I'm all setup for reloading .40 and would need to buy the dies for .357 leans me more towards getting the .40.

At least on the 229 you can buy a .40 barrel for the 357 (or vice versa) and shoot either by swapping the barrels. The magazine/clip (get over it) are both the same between the two. I don't reload, but have a friend who can reload most anything for me and recommended the Sig over the HK I was looking at. My mags actually say 357 and .40 on them. I'd take both.
True on the 226 as well

An optional barrel allows conversion from 357 SIG to 40 S&W.
