    NO! c'mon man, pay attention

What will this do to the gun control movment? Chenney a 78 year old man!?!?!?!
Not good, and at 30 yard the old guy was probably more than visible... Wtch your muzzle directions!

kinda funny though sorta, but not really to funny.

Sure it was partly the old man's fault but jeez, look at your target and what is beyond...

What I enjoyed was the spin they put on it already. The article on MSNBC stated that the old man, who was hunting in Cheney's group, had come up behind Cheney unannounced, and had been nailed while Cheney was tracking a bird, shifting the blame to the old man for not announcing himself.

    Just interesting to note.

It is part the old dudes fault, and part Dick's fault, but who cares? It is just good that the old dude is ok and not dead.

          WASHINGTON - Vice President
Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest with shotgun pellets.

And you DIDN'T take the obvious pun opportunity with such key words as "Dick" and "shoot"? I'm ashamed...

what i find interesting is the choice of words used:

"spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest"
                  "got peppered pretty good."
"It broke the skin" (My favorite)
                  "It knocked him silly"

It was bird shot, which isn't as powerful as buckshot or slugs.
There are three kinds of people in the world: Those who can count, and those who can't.

Well, they were hunting qual, so they were using a small shot like a 6-8 shot i bet, and he was probably using a modified or improved cylander, so it spreads the shot out so the blast is not as concentrated. At 30 yards either cylander spreads shot fairly far apart so the brunt of impact was spread over a fairly large distance. And shot slows down quickly due to friction from air (which is why you need to lead clays/birds so much). Dick is the VP and can without question afford a nice shotgun, I bet he has a sweet shotgun. Good thing they were not going for midsize game and goin with slugs...

Now the left will want to steal my shotgun from me [sigh]

i dont think VP has anything to do with a nice shotgun, infact i believe most VP's and Pres' dont accept their wages. Then again thats because they are nearly always wealthy anyway.

actually, i was kinda thinking that dick wouldve been mistaken for a turkey.

i was refering to both the VP wage (which is somewhat large) and the whole millionare thing, plus I'm sure that the VP can circomvent (sp?) any firearm laws

as for the turkey thing, I dont know what kind of mutant superfreakishly large turkies live in your part of the world, but all the ones I've seen are way smaller than Dick is

Edit: I also enjoyed the "sprayed the fellow...on the face neck and chest"
