I got one for Christmas. I've had some issues with it. It doesn't do very well shaving. Not like my old basic microscreen did. Can't compair to a mach 3 turbo razor. Anyway it was starting to do just a little better and it cut me pretty good. Darn thing ate up the microscreen. So what is a guy to do? I went to the store and shelled out 31 and some change for a rebuild kit. It feels way better now for some reason and seems to shave better. Way better than it did new. Mine is the smart system with the cleaning station. Reg price is currently +100. One would think it would be pretty good. I hope this time the microscreen last a little longer. Anyone have a MS5000 Remington? Any problems? I sent Remington an Email. I was nice, but I let them know I wasn't happy some time ago with no responce. They have a no fault return policy with in 30 days, but instuctions say give it up to 6 weeks use for optium time for one to become used to it. Of coarse I read this after 30 days. Customer service like what I here SmartParts is like. Maybe I should have got the Remington one like a Norelco with 3 pivoting heads. But then again the old Norelco did good, but the head crapped out in a 1-2 months also. I might just go back to the trusty Gillettes if this doesn't work out.

Anyway. Glad to hear the rebuild kit made things better for you. I'm currently using a Remington Titanium Microscreen (MS2 370) myself and I love it. I've had it for over a year though and I think it's about time to replace the blades but other than that it's been great. And just so there's no confusion: No, I don't work for, nor am I affiliated with, the Remington shaving products company.

I think it is better, but I still think they put the trimmer on backwards. The serraded trimmer is almost useless. The outside when you flick it up is very fine, so fine infact it will not trim the finest of hair let alone neck or sideburns. The inside serration is coarse and it does alright on hair. To get the stuborn neck hair I have to use the trimmer flipped up along with the micro screen together to do anything respectable. Sideburns I can't do anything with. The Braun cruzer3 the trimmer flips to fine and the coarse side as one of its features. Wish I could flip mine around permently. I think it would work much better for me, but I don't see how to do it.Originally posted by RemingtonI never got an email.

nothing beats a regular razor, I have my mach 3 turbo which is amazing. And they came out with the fusion now, but idk, man 5 blades seems like overkill.Comment

I'd have to agree, but I like the laziness of the electric shaver. I didn't know you were old enough to need a shaver ScottOriginally posted by BeaverEaternothing beats a regular razor, I have my mach 3 turbo which is amazing. I had to through in that dig, sorry.

I use the Mach 3 on my head, but for my face I prefer the Braun Activator or Syncro (I have both). I have an extremely heavy beard and tend to get bumps on my neck with a blade. The Brauns are kinda pricey, but they're the best I've used so far... Ones I've used in the past include the above mentioned Microscreen, Panasonic's foil shaver and various Norelcos.Originally posted by BeaverEaternothing beats a regular razor, I have my mach 3 turbo which is amazing. I've used the Braun Cruzer3. It isn't bad. I noticed that atleast that Braun had larger holes in the foil to allow coarser hairs to be cut easier. I did however get a closer shave with my Remington I felt, but it takes me twice as long to get it done. Pop the Braun open to clean it and I get large hair particles as to the Remingtons powder. Also My Remington is Very loud. I bet the neibors can hear it if the windows are open it is so loud. It has to be the loudest I have ever used. Good thing I'm single and have no one to wake up.Originally posted by SniperSmurfI use the Mach 3 on my head, but for my face I prefer the Braun Activator or Syncro (I have both). i've been using the schick quatro. it just seems to work better than any other razor i have tried. i used to use the mach 3 turbos... eh. they didnt cut smooth.
that new 5 blade thing is tempting though, but like what was already mentioned... 5 blades, seems like overkill."wtf is a CKY!!??!!"

Update. The Remington chewed up my face again this morning. NO micro screen left again! This thing is an utter piece of crap! Every two months I have to rebuild it? At 35 bucks a pop it is way cheaper to use a Fusion. $210 bucks a year just to shave and it isn't a good one! Since Remington doesn't respond I'm just going to have to try a return it at the store. Maybe if I explain how it has been such a peice I can exchange it.Comment
