you CAN NOT get 13.2sec from a neon on stock tires with stock suspenshion in a neon no matter WHAT you do to the engein.
i would know My shadow (not a whole lot differant than a neon) had 200+hp and could not do it and it had wider tires and a LOT more performance options. IF i had the intercooler it would have been a 300hp car. Car weighed 2600lbs
Full Flowmaster performance exhaust cat back (Includeing cat) 2.5"
Factory Turbocharged with moded wastgate (was pinning my boost gage at 15psi WAY OVER safe limits but ALOT of extra go it was WORTH IT).
Factor Roller lifters OHC motor
Performance intake (coustom pipeing with k&N filter)
Wider cooper cobra GT tires (they rubbed on full lock though).
Engein rebuilt (after craking the head)
0-60 in high 6 to low 7secs
That car was able to GO but hooking up to the road was a MAJOR problem as in any FWD car.
Now its been A LONG time since i owned that car
and an even longer time since i had any intrest in raceing BUT im a mehcanic for a living and consider automotive performance as my NUMBER 1 hobby. I have been playing and working on cars ever since i was a wee lad lyin beside my grand father under his old 1977 Dodge. I dont mean to be mean but if you truly did run a 13.2 MAN ID LOVE TO SEE THAT VID.
I dont think you relize how fast 13 secs is. I think fast and the furiouse is clouding some judgment here. a FULLY BLOWN SVT COBRA MUSTANGE with a BLOWN 4.6 and ALL the goodies pushes 400hp is RWD with performance tires and drien by a well known local driver gets a best of mid 13's how can a considerbly light moded 2.0L N/A on staight motor 4 cyl FWD car on stockish rubber pull off 13.2secs????
