I'm suprised by the way the Kings are playing. With names like Roenick, Conroy, Frolov, Demitra, Norstrom, Robitaille, Visnovsky, Parrish & Sopel are playing so crappy. Of course when a guy like Avery has 251 PIM and leads the league by almost 100 PIM that is saying something about their stupid play.

The Dallas game was kind of a joke. Modano, Turco, & Zubov were both out of the line-up... and ya the kings won by 1.
You don't get rid of something that works though, and Murray worked for them. I think his attitude has only come about recently. But with the way his team's been playing, can you blame him?

Yes, had Modano, Turco, and Zubov played, then the game would have been...? I don't know, the Kings have managed to stick it to Dallas quite a few times this season, so...

With the names that they have on their roster, they should be playing like all stars, not rookies.

The previous 2 seasons they led the NHL in missed games, a very good reason for not making the playoffs... however this season has been quite different. Murray wasn't aggressive and was not jelling with his team. When 90% of the team, including back office, are dancing in the streets due to him leaving... that says something. Sean Avery, who is known for not holding back, says "good, I and several people in the club are glad to see him gone." Murray was a good fit, I think the last couple of seasons took a toll on him and it was one of those things were they needed a change. Yes they probably could have waited for the end of the season but they had gotten only 27 pts since the Olympic break while teams like Dallas were in the high 50's. While it might not all be the coaches fault, he ultimately has responsibility for the way his club is playing. Personally I liked his aggressive style but in the last half of the season, it wasn't showing up at all. He seemed to care less. Anyways what is done is done there.

While they have stuck it to Dallas this season, it's the teams they should really be sticking it to that they have not. Case in point... they have lost the last 3 games to the Ducks and after watching some highlights of yesterdays game, the Kings are definitely under achieving. It will be interesting to see how many of the 12 free agents return.

Oh, I agree with you. I think that they should put forth a serious effort into finding a good coach who can work with the team. Maybe Melrose will want to come back...

As far as returning players, I wouldn't count on Robataille...at least not on the ice. I think he'll stick with the organization, maybe even as coach. We'll see though.
