SCpoloRicker-bragging rights and that is about it. I just thought you meant it was a pile of crap or something like that, my mistake.

I prefer to stick to domestics because well, not to offend anyone, I graduated to the next class of cars, yes the Import/Ricer/Tuner scene is neat, but not if you want a I guess "real car" just have to face the fact, american cars are faster, like posted before theres no replacement for displacement....thats why I prefer to stay domestic, and not to mention WHOEVER in the world thought fart cans could ever come close to a Muscle car sound...is on crack...

        That's a pile of crap.

If you're looking for fast, it's power to weight that counts. Not where is was made nor how much displacement the engine has. High displacement translates to torque and good low end performance, but for brute HP and high end performance, low displacement, high RPM is the alternative.

What do you want to do with the car? 1/4 mile? Oval? Street course? Stop light dashes? Biggest noise maker?

The "best" car depends on the purpose and the individual.

If you like muscle cars, fine, that's your right. But don't go saying stupid ignorant things with respect to other cars.

That is 7K in upgrades? Holy crap, for 7K I could build a couple badass cars or pickups...

But then again I fab most of my own parts and that makes things cheap. For example I'm currently lifting my 95 Powerstroke and I'm only going to have about $150 bucks into it for a four inch lift. I was looking up lift kits for it the other day and a 4 inch kit sells for about a grand, so I'm saving myself $850, just by building all the brackets myself.

Another example is on my 77 project pickup they wanted freakin $150 for 3 extended brake lines for it (2 for the front and one for the rear). So I brazed some fittings on the old hard lines and bought some braided ss paintball lines to use for the brake lines. Of course this is an off road only vehicle, so don't start preaching to me about DOT approved B.S.

You been watchin to many F&F movies... The last gen body style is of course expensive but none of the previous are.. I also forgot 240SX are cheap

Also lets not start an Import vs Domestic war. I got more E-Bodys (Challengers and Cudas) than pairs of shoes but what am I building up right now? Helpin a friend with a CRX, I'm building a 1UZFE (Toyotas 1st Gen V8 for LS/SC400) Curently the UZFE's have gone from 4L to 4.3, 4.6 and plans for 5L so Japan does get it and are built better than any American V8 than I know.

Lets just say "Audi" was the big money spender. Just because my car has those 4 rings everything is mega expensive. I mean come on my body kit was $1900 and only because I got the best stuff and none of that fiberglass crap that cracks. Even my thermostat is $35 when most american cars are ~$5.

Everyone knows the older Supras were junk but the latest generation with an inline 6 is pretty potent and the new one that is coming out is suppose to be really something at over $100K. It is true though any larger V8, V10, V12 is going to have way more power but with regard to noise it just isn't so. Try using glasspacks to lower the noise...

I'm greatly amused that the odds on favorite for the Overall win at LeMans this year is a 5 liter Diesel.

Which proves that nothing is set in stone.

Power to weight yes I know. For the price I really dont see the point into dropping 10 grand into a already 12-15k new civic when after that, I could pick up a lets say LS1 camaro, run just as fast, and be out of it cheaper. Even watching drag civics and hondas ones running into the 10's-11's arnt street legal(Notice I left out the import RWD likes supras and etc). If im looking for a fast car in a quarter or drag races, american cars seem to own this area due to the fact of the displacement and the engine produces more torque, your right if I wanted to go for the worlds top speed record HP would be my main concern, but for the fact id rather have a faster car off the line, acceleration, and spinning tires...ill stick to domestic. Like I said before I USED to like import cars, lots of friends swear by them, but after having to watch 100's of civics drive around with fart cans, it killed it for me. I respect any fast car weather it be domestic, foreign, home made, whatever...as long as it hauls ***, really isnt that all that matters when it comes down to it?

Isnt the "new" supra called something pretty weird, I remember seeing something about it online somewhere, and they were changing the name, and supposedly it was a hybrid..because from the accouncement recently toyota is switching all their cars to hybrids from what I understand....if nothing else the "new" supra....will have ALOT to live up to.....
