In doubles they throw two at the same time. Skeet do not go too far, and with machine throws they are thrown very very quickly.

                  you should try it once.

we bought a box of 150 shells at Dick's for $23 and a box of 90 clays is like $5-7 i think.
                  great day of fun.

                    Lefty

Looking at those Benelli models I see that they have some lefty ones. Is it worth it to buy a lefty if you are left handed? The last itme I shot my father-in law's Remy 870 I kept catching the casings in my right inside elbow. Ow. Any suggestions or tips.

My father is still using the 870 he got as a teenager to this day, the only other gun he uses is a side-by-side 16 gauge truck gun.

I personally use a Charles Daly 20 over and under, most of the time. But the 870 is the right gun for every occasion.

                        I love sporting clays.

I prefer sporting clays to skeet or trap. More like golfing a real course instead of hitting balls at the driving range. The club we shoot changes presentations often enough that it is always a challange. I, and the guys I shoot w/, think paintball "snap" shooting helps my shot gun shooting (or vice versa). In any case, if I can shoot paint or pheasants, sporting clays it is.

As for a leftie gun. I shoot leftie. I used to be bothered by ejecting shells. My Berreta doesn't seem to bother me now. Not sure if I've gotten used to it, or if this gun is different.

Skeet & Trap shooting are essentially the same. Sporting clays is a little bit different. All of them require a shot gun shooter to hit clay pigeons. If you compare it to golf, it is like hitting balls at the driving range versus playing a golf course.
-Skeet you stand still and clays come out of several houses in front of you.
-Trap, there is one house w/ a handfull of shooting spots around it.
-Sporting clays has a course, usually through the woods and very scenic. Each station will have a number of presentations: crossing left or right, approaching or going away, going up or down, sometimes even rolling or bouncing, even different sized clays.

Actually with skeet there are several "stations" You shoot four from the first, four from the second, two for each of the next three, four for the next two, and one at each of the last two. It is a pretty intricate hobby .
